I'd be surprised. Ange will get his premier league chance soon but I'd think a club the size of the spurs is a bit too much of a step up for him. It'd be a bold move by Tottenham.

Highly unlikely, Celtic is around mid championship level.

He might get a gig at a championship side first.

Thanks for those responses. What about the SPL, though ? My soccer loving mates deride its standard, VFL v AFL is the analogy. More important, do SPL aficionados post in this forum ? If not, is there an associated SPL forum on WOOF ?

The majority of the league run on L1 type budgets but Celtic and Rangers have them beat by a factor of 8 plus. Creates a very lopsided competition.
If you want to start a SPL thread I'll be happy to contribute to discussions.

Thankyou, GVGjr, starting a SPL thread/sub forum is well beyond my knowledge and/or capabilities. I'll take it as a no but hope not to offend if I insert an observation or so from time to time, like now. What is it with Johnson / Hibs and Naismith / Hearts ? What was Saturday's confrontation about ?

By all means start a thread called Scottish Premier League and it might create some traffic.

Australia has a link with Luton Town. Well an English born one. Who played a big part in us getting to the '74 world cup.

Interesting to see how Leicester, Leeds and Southampton go in the Championship next season.

Preston North End, Ipswich Town and Leicester with the early running in this years Championship. It has been years since Preston have been anywhere this high - last time was late 90s I think under Moyes.

The mighty Hoops have Ainsworth as the gaffer. Expecting another long season and will be lucky to avoid relegation.

It's great to see Ipswich get off to a good start in their first back into the Championship. Their first choice goalie is down at the moment as well.

As expected Ainsworth didn’t last long and replaced by Marti Cifuentes. Bold appointment by QPR which will hopefully see them rise from the depths of despair.

Leicester and Ipswich the two front runners in the Championship. Leicester five games in front of third placed Leeds and only a third into the season

I think that you've jinxed Preston,

They've had a couple of seasons in the last ten where they were a chance of finishing in the play off spots late in the season before falling away and finishing 3 or 4 games out.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Ha ha. Hopefully I can jinx all teams so that QPR make a miraculous charge to the play offs

I watched a YouTube video a couple of nights ago outlining how much money QPR got through the last time they were in the Premier League and that Malaysian guy was funneling his cash into the club. It was more than one of the Champions League finalists that year!

Apparently his son talked him into hiring a manager he'd read about on a fan forum.

Harry Rednapp would win you silverware but you definitely paid for it a few years later . He made a mess of Tottenham and Portsmouth even Southampton took a hit.
