    Didn't know that - thanks

Boland first test wicket. Only the second Indigenous player in men's test cricket.

Is this the worst England batting line up ever? Absolute shit trucks besides Root.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

They are very weak at the top of the order. Need to find some scrappers who can gut it out.
Malan should bat at 5, Stokes at 6 and Bairstow at 7.

Dominate day for Australia, late wicket of Warner took just a bit of the shine from it.
Boland got his first wicket, Green continued his great form with the ball, Cummins, Starc and Lyon with multiple wickets.
Harris survives and has a chance to consolidate his position in the team tomorrow.

Harris needs a decent score to keep his position in the team

Not convinced with his technique as a test batsmen . He moves too much at the crease and looks to play slightly across the line , this catches him out ( edges) when they bowl around the wicket .

Really hope he scores a big one

England are a mess with their batting , very delightful to watch

Very poor diminutive field settings for wood who was Troubling the openers

They didn't bowl him a lot in the 2nd innings so not sure if they weren't impressed with his performance and there is a suggestion he was sore after the test.

On MCG form, Boland was a very good selection.

It's the lack of options that keeps him in the side with Pucovski injured and Burns not showing enough.

Hunt and Renshaw must be close or the next to being considered.

Harris is not a Test cricketer and probably the worse batsmen playing in this Test which is saying something. Looks completely outclassed.

It was reported along with Richardson both were sore after the Adelaide test.

I heard Skull say yesterday that Harris has been promised his position for all Ashes matches. Hard to believe if true.

Not really as far as batting goes I'd suggest we are very reluctant to change the order when we are winning.

Crisis has been averted at the Boxing Day Test, with England cleared to make a belated arrival at the MCG for a delayed start to day two.

A positive test in the players’ family group forced the England team to stay in their rooms awaiting negative results, but training staff arrived at the ground by 9.45am and players were also set to arrive to start preparing for day two after receiving the all clear.

It was another morning of chaos for this COVID-interrupted Ashes series, with Channel 7 commentary stars led by Ricky Ponting forced into isolation after a positive transmission in their crew, and a reserve team of callers stepping in on day two.

Following the Pat Cummins drama in Adelaide and now this, it’s clear the Ashes series continues to hang by a thread as virus numbers continue to grow in Melbourne and the next stop for the series in Sydney.

There is no confirmation yet on when play might start at the MCG on day two, but after all the morning drama, it may only be a delay of an hour or so.

Australia were at the MCG early on day two, but there was no sign of anyone from the England set-up just over an hour before play was due to start.

“The England team and management are currently at the team hotel awaiting results of RFT COVID tests following a positive test in the team’s family group,” England said in a statement.

But quickly they were given the all clear to travel.

It's complete nonsense that if he keeps failing but we winning that he should keep his spot. There's always another series around the corner, let's just get someone else in see if they can consolidate over the two coming tests should Harris fail again.

There's absolutely no reason to keep kissing him on the pecker.

It's not like Harris is Shaun Marsh.

Harris survives a review after been given out.
