it makes the most sense. He could consolidate himself into the touring squads in the next few months

He gets a chance now to prove himself.

Swepson may miss out, depending on the weather conditions.

          Khawaja for Head only change.

          Boland retains spot.

Pretty happy with this. Think a settled team into a crunch test in Sydney is key.....oh yeah forgot its a dead rubber.

I think the interesting thing here will be the England team selection. I expect that Rory Burns will come back in for Hameed and Broad for Robinson. Personally I think they should drop Leach. He is the poorest excuse for a spinner in world cricket.

                England have given up.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

It appears that way but don't discount Broad and Anderson firing up.

They’re passed their best. I’m tipping a massive hiding, they’ll be mentally back home.

I'm not so sure, they're at the end of impressive test careers and I doubt they are out there to run down the clock.

Not doubting their test bonafides, they are both legends of English cricket.
Just wonder how much motivation they have in the current state of things.
They're pros so will give their all.

We've won the toss and are batting. Root won the one toss he may well have been better losing ha.

Shame about the rain impacting the test. Lets see if we can post a good score and do it relatively quickly.

Harris needs to stand up and make a decent score.

Disappointing dismissal from Warner, playing wide of his body at a ball that would have best been left alone.
                                TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
