Yep, was a character one J Dodd. I remember the opening game of one season we were 1/6 after two balls. Doddy had blasted the first one out of the ground and lost his poles after trying the same thing with the second. Another time at Melbourne the opposition had put on a marvellous arvo tea and all the young blokes were hooking into all the quality sandwiches when Doddy cracked it and took out his false teeth and placed them perfectly in the middle of the pile and said that no one else was to touch HIS plate!

Thanks, but it wasn't all that much really. The sponsorship was just the equipment each year and a pat on the back. I played a few rep games in my teens and a couple of invitationals. My only real claim-to-fame was playing a few games against Warnie both in juniors and district.
