Lyon out for starters. I think Murphy in. Check how Hazlewood’s body is faring. Is he needs a rest, Boland back.

This will be the most likely changes. I just wonder if the batting prowess of Neser is worth considering with a 2 nil lead.

I'd go with Neser for Hazlewood as well. I think Boland looked benign in the first test and think a genuine swing option would complement this attack.

What do you think of Green's efforts to date?

I am a little disappointed with both bat and ball. Bowling last night when Stokes hit 3 x 6 and 1 x4 in one over was deplorable. Mate change it up stop delivering the exact same short ball down leg side one after the other.

Can we drop Green for Nesser? or not enough batting?

Apart from Lyon for Murphy, I don't see there be a change in fast bowlers .

Hazelwood only bowled 13 and 18 overs in each innings in the 2nd test. So thats not alot of overs over 5 days .

If Hazelwood gets injured from bowling in this test match, I would be concerned..

Agree 100%. Neser is going to take a bag of wickets in one test if he is given a chance.

No chance they leave out Green. We've seen that he is a slow starter in series, and he had a slow start to the IPL as well before coming home with a wet sail. I actually think that's not a bad trait in a young player - it shows he's absorbing what's happening around him and growing his own game to suit the conditions. We saw that as well in our home summer where he made some technical tweaks and came out looking a far better player. This is his first time in the UK and he's right out of the IPL, I think there was a sense that they were picking him more for the second half of the tour than the first.

Despite holing out after 67 balls, he looked pretty comfortable getting out of the way of the short stuff and looked the most unflustered batter during that barrage. I imagine he probably quite close attention to the way Stokes dealt with it on that final afternoon - Green is not a dissimilar player.

Green's such a unique talent, you can see him growing from Test to Test while he's being exposed to these new situations. I think he's set for a big three games.

I am a big fan of Green and hopefully he learnt a lot during that 2nd test

Agree, think that's actually not a bad result for England. Looks like Brooks will go to 3 and Lawrence comes in to bat. Lawrence is a talented player, but I think they should've brought in Foakes and played Bairstow as a batter.

Is Brooks capable enough at 3?

I agree that playing Foakes to release Bairstow from keeping duties would make them stronger. They also have an issue with their tail, which is particularly ironic given Ollie Robinson's comments before the 1st test.

Sounds like Ali and Woakes might come in (and Wood) which will see them bat pretty deep.

He's not someone I'd trust against the moving ball. I think they feel like Root is a good ballast at 4 if they go two down early, but Brooks is a big risk. I would've really thought about bumping Stokes to 3 - his defensive technique is hugely underused, but it's solid.
