Pretty much what you'd expect but Neser is really lucky to be there based on Shield form. He's taken 9 wickets in 6 matches at a tick over 50 and has looked very pedestrian.

There are a few fellas who might ask where all the talk around form has gone. Joel Paris has 23 wickets in 4 matches @ 13.8 apiece and Chris Tremain has 36 wickets @ 16.3. Could've even got a young guy over there like O'Neill who would suit the conditions and has taken his 55 First Class wickets at 20.

Morris injured so I guess Neser was next in the established pecking order. Renshaw is also lucky to be there given his shield form.

Really keen for the test series, New Zealand have a very strong batting line-up and if conditions allow for the ball to hoop around their bowlers will cause all sorts of problems.

The Kiwis predictably smashed South Africa B in the first test but the Saffas are slightly on top at the moment in the second test. They lead by 217 runs in their second innings with 6 wickets in hand in a low scoring affair.

Good while it lasted! Big South Africa collapse who lose their last 5 wickets for 33 runs gives NZ a chase of 266. O'Rourke took five on debut and 9 for the match - he's a big strong lad ala Jamieson who will trouble our bats with his height and bounce.

I have New Zealand starting favorites at home against us - I really like their side - particularly in conditions that do a bit for the pacers.

The last 5 batsmen made 12 runs between them! They really should have set NZ a target over 300 which would have been a tough chase by the sounds of it.

Kane Williamson is so far ahead as the best bat in men's cricket that it's not funny. Hundreds in both innings in the first Test and he's leading New Zealand home with 127* now.

His record is incredible too - averages over 55 now, has made 32 tons and will be the first Kiwi past 10,000 Test runs.

He's in some sort of form at the moment and his record at home is amazing, averaging around 70. Like most batsmen is away record isn't as great. He actually has done ok in Australia, averaging 43, but has a poor record in England, India, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

He is going to be a major obstacle to getting a result over there.

I wonder where he compares to some of NZ best bats like Martin Crowe and Stephen Fleming?

Saw this on Facebook, someone remind me why Renshaw is in the Australian squad again.

Since Matt Renshaw's last century in the Sheffield Shield (which came against Victoria in mid-October), in the competition, he has scores of:
                        - 7
                        - 57
                        - 26
                        - 3
                        - 2
                        - 3
                        - 37
                        - 6
                        - 2
                        - 2
                        - 8
                        - 14

I don't see him as a test standard batsman. Agree, how does he get into the squad

Amazing finish in the T20 last night. With 32 required from the last 9 balls it looked out of reach until Tim David went nuts with 31 from 10 balls to get the Aussies home with a 4 from the final delivery.

Josh Inglis almost wrecked the chase with a run a ball 20 when at least 10 per over was required. I'm guessing Wade will replace him.

Inglis looked out of place. Aussies were really cruising, when Maxwell and Marsh were together, despite the size of the run chase.

Inglis was the only batter for either team who couldn't manage significantly more than a run a ball. The rest of the Australians were all over 150 strike rate.
