I wonder if Nannes would be in the mix? I suppose being a left hander would work against him.
No doubt Nannes is in career form, but I really hope that if a new paceman is blooded it is with a view to the medium to long term. At 32 years old Nannes doesn't fill that criteria.

My main concern with Krezja is he leaks runs. Fair enough his first test was against the spin savvy Indians on home soil, and he is bowling right now on what is probably the least spin friendly track in Australia. However he really needs to find a way to create more pressure by tieing batsmen down more, in my opinion.

          Caught and bowler not lbw.
These bad decisions balance themselves out over time.

It's the classic player out of form and out of time being also completely out of fortune. When your time is up, your time is up.

The entire cupboard is bare though, not too many batsman ready to come in either I wouldnt think. We are lucky that test cricket isnt that competative at the moment.

Caught & bowled??? surely not....you could park a truck in between the gap between bat & ball!

Yep, we all got bad decisions, and especially when in a form slump, made things worse....but....that was as bad a poor decision as your ever going to see.

I'd give him one more go, especially the Boxing Day test, if he's ever going to make runs, thats the game he'd do it, after that, more failure, then time to bring in Rogers.

You are right on both counts but I can think of a few batsman that could come in and perform but the bowling is still a concern.

Watson, Hodge, Rogers and Hughes all have some claims but the bowling depth is way too thin.

I think that is the way it will pan out. One more test and if he fails that would be it.

                        Re: Australia vs South Africa

Siddle bowled very well I thought. He is a hit the deck type of bowler and relies on sideways movement. The pitch is a road so he summed up the conditions and decided to play a restricting role. I think you will find if he played on a deck with a bit more in it then the line and length he bowls will become very dangerous. I am more worried about Lee to be honest. His pace is down and he is bowling a bit 2 lengths at the moment.

Bracken would be my next choice followed by Bollinger but I doubt they would play another left armer with Johnson. Hilfenhaus needs to dominate state cricket before he is considered. I am not overly worried about the bowling stocks. Bollinger is quality and Bracken is a brilliant bowler contrary to popular opinion. We would have won the series in India had Bracken played. He was once only a swing bowler but now he has the ability to bowl cutters with the old ball and is really accurate. He gives brilliant balance to an attack and something a bit different to our into the wicket type bowlers.

He was lucky to survive padding up earlier so its swings and roundabouts.

That is true, and off course you get a good break every now and then, although i'd argue very strongly that a batsman has more bad luck than a bowler, going from experience, plus once a batsman gets a bad call, he's gone, a bowler continues on...i reckon i would have had 5 bad calls against for one lucky break.

Having said that, Haydos was lucky with the earlier decision...BUT, that decision against him was as bad as you will ever see, bad enough for Dar to apologize to Haydos for simply getting it wrong.
