Over 41.4: Kallis to Hughes, FOUR, and now slaps a wide ball away with a cracking square drive. Absolutely nothing here for the South Africans...a run out looks their best chance at the moment and even that's unlikely!!
They won't get a runout if he keeps hitting boundaries!
Hughes is just brilliant to watch. new age batting, two sixes to bring up the ton is unbelievable. Good toss to win the saffers look a little disinterested. What the hell was ponting doing?

I didn't understand why Ponting followed a risky shot with another one especially since the just moved the mid off back.
After a great start by the openers we needed the captain to build upon the momentum and not throw his wicket away.

He's rebounded well hasn't he?
For all of the gritty, "determined" tags, he can score his runs exctitingly, not to mention quickly. To firstly have 10 fours with his score at 52, and then to bring up his ton with two sixes shows his class, as well as his ability to excite. Can't wait to see more, hopefully for a long loooong time.

Saffas are in strife. Some life in the wicket today by the sounds of it, with our middle/bottom order collapse and their top order falling over. 3 out for 6 and Smith off injured.
