Blimey the Poms need some new material re. singing at the cricket. Nothing more exciting than chanting Barmy Army for 7 hours, and waffling on about a boat that sailed in the 15 hundreds. Yes than the encore of Oz being a convict colony, yes me thinks I'd rather be living in a convict colony than a bleak country.

The throat ball by Siddle to Bopara is what I want to see more of in test cricket. It didn't take long to see Bopara is overated.

In term of chants the English win hands down. Anything is better than Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie. The Greg Champion songs I've heard should be used.

Agree with this - I think this is the kind of pitch that suits McDonald (Clark might also have been able to get some decent bounce for a little while as well), and we really lack a bowler who can grind through lots of tight overs to help turn the screws for the others.

Lots of pressure on Hauritz for the second innings.

The first session on day two will determine who wins this one. If we can get them out cheaply, it will swing our way. If they hang in and say put on another 100, then we could be in trouble as they double spin us.

Why didn't Marcus North get a trundle? Surely he should have bowled before Clarke and Katich?

Good point. North is the best finger spinner in the country.

Odd question time, would Hauritz get a game for the side if he averaged 40 at FC level and was seen as a specialist bat but still bowled exactly the same?

I am being a bit facetious but I think the only thing that doesn't make Hauritz look like a part-time spin bowler is the fact that he isn't a specialist bat.

Showing utter disrepect for Nathan Hauritz.

Just watching him now. 16 off the over!

He got a bit of spin going away from the pitch with the first couple of balls. 5th day vs two specialist spinners will be interesting.

He is a part-time bowler who can't bat, so our selectors and Punter think that makes him a specialist bowler. I guess I am a specialist bat because it is slightly less horrible than my bowling.

                              England all out 435.

That was about 75 more than what Australia would have hoped for before the start of play. The English tail really wagged.

Phil Hughes at the very least makes for some interesting viewing.
