Australia now leading with 6 wickets left. I imagine a lead of 200+ would be sought.

Prior has no business being up to the stumps.

Haddin and Johnson will need to add a bit. 200 plus would be a great lead.

Poor weather tipped for day 4 combined with the time lost yesterday could cost us here. Full games play and I think we have this.

With the rain, looking like a draw.

Light rain predicted from 1pm onwards.

                5/652

                Lead is now 227.

First time in Ashes history Australia have had 4 centurions in the same innings:

                Ponting 150
                Kattich 122
                North 122*
                Haddin 112*

Gotta admire the effort of the trumpeter in the crowd. It's funny when he plays Waltzing Matilda & all the crowd sings 'We all shagged Matilda, we all shagged Matilda, we all shagged Matilda & so did me mate'. I guess they need something to give them a bit of cheer at the moment.

North & Haddin were just playing with the Poms, picking them off at will, great display by both and well done in their first Ashes game, and to think we still had Mitch to belt them around as well if needed.

Could the Poms slow things down anymore? The crowd getting quite restless at times.

2 quick wickets have really been great for us. 2 more will really get us going.

Poor shot by Cook & was as plumb as you'd ever wish to see. Bopara was stiff, it was too high & would have gone over the stumps.

Great to see the POMs put back in their place. Heard Terry Jenner say how England picked the side then all that was mentioned was the 2005 series and how the Aussie's were a weaker side now. Conveniently forgot the last Australian series.
Even yesterday our ninemsn site had a story on how England believe they have Hussey's measure. Great 1 out of 11 ain't bad.

With a bit of hindsight did we bat for 5 overs too many? If we had them 3 for they might fold pretty quickly tonight.

Definetly. We can make up time on the last day but if they are batting they can go off for light. We were better off declaring early and then if we got them out at least we can stay out if it gets a bit dark.

Not as much ''chipper'' in the English commentary on the ABC as there was day 1. Yes Boycott if Hauritz can't get your grandmother out then I guess Swann or Panesar couldn't get her out either. Bleak Bore Human BeingJust clocked the century in reference to the 2005 series BTW. Just out of interest has the 2006/07 series been esponged from the records?

Maybe, but with two guys scoring so well and only 220 in front their runs could come in handy - England should knock off the 200 to go if they see out the day so not a case of wasting time to make unnecessary runs unless rain comes into it
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.
