I see the Sydney media rode rough shod over the match review panel for the second year running.
Last year they made one hell of a song & dance to ensure Cameron Smith was rubbed out & missed the Grand Final.
This year they say we can't have a player like Jarryd Hayne miss a Grand Final, so the MRP hand him a one match ban, but with an early guilty plea he can play!
Similar instances this season have seen players miss 3 matches.

Absolute BS!!!
On outsiders they showed comparative instances which results in 3 weeks bans and the impact was not in the head... If the NRL don't want a Melbourne team, just pull the licence like men. Not rub our Smith before a GF, ensure the DalyM winner plays despite nearly killing a man and having their judicary a few years ago pursue the Storm for damages.
It's this stuff which stops me committing to more interest in the NRL. They don't really want us so I really have the drive for anything more than a cursory glance whenever they contrive the situation to penalise Melbourne...

Hayne was never going to be suspended ...... rules for Melbourne Storm, rules for others. I applaud both Cam Smith & Brian Waldron for not getting sucked in to commenting on the "leading with the knees" incident.
Hopefully all the media is about Hayne & the Eels, Storm can just fly in under the radar as they have all year & bring the trophy back where it belongs!!
I haven't watched a game all season but a mate from NSW wanted me to join his tipping competition and low and behold I'm one point up with one game to go. The problem is that finals are worth 2 points.
Can any of our Northern State guys tell me who I should select?
Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"
It's the GF mate. Parra have won something like 9 out of their last 10 and came from 2nd last in the comp to finish 8th before comfortably winning their finals. Storm are in the best season they have been in all season.
Storm are better on paper but the Eels are in good form too. I'm going Storm by 8-12.

How about a Southern State girl?!
I'm feeling pretty confident Storm can win. I think that having been in the past 3 grand finals will help us with nerves etc. Also talking a bit with my heart here, but I think the boys will remember how bad losing last year felt (like Geelong) and get over the line. Storm to win by around 20 points.

And it's ridiculous that they've suspended Melbourne players for marginal 'chicken wing' tackle type issues, but two knees with your full weight into the back of a guy's head is no problem.
I enjoy rugby league tremendously, but seriously, their boofhead, Sydney-centric culture does them a disservice. I, for one, am glad that Cam Smith, Craig Bellamy etc. are gentlemen of the highest order and the Storm has a completely different culture to the rest of the comp, which will also explain to some extent us making 4 GFs in a row, DESPITE losing our best players every year.
There is also a lesson in this for Carlton and Fev -- personnel is replaceable. Character isn't.
Great effort from The Storm a triumph for Craig Bellamy. All the players they've lost over the last few years and to win this premiership is a brilliant effort.
Footnote; A sledge for channel 9 for cutting to the news ahead of the victory celebrations
Double sledge for the bias Sydney centric commentary. What a F****** disgrace

How Phil Gould actually makes a living in rugby league is beyond me.
The most unprofessional caller I've ever heard.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Agree with this 100%.

What was worse was that the lead item in the news was the Storm victory. Lets see some wild celebrations followed by the minor items of a earthquake and tusnami, who cares.
If they were going to lead with that why not continue the NRL coverage?
