Bizarre runout where it was a race to see which player was out at the same end.
Katich has been involved in a fair few of these runouts if i recall correctly. Almost always with players I want to see do well (Watson, Ponting, Hayden).
What was Katich thinking - got caught ball watching when it wasn't his call. I know Watson is dying to get his first hundred, but his reaction afterwards wasn't great, IMO.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Katich should have walked. One of the most selfish things i have seen an Australian cricketer do IMO. Watson had every right to be shocked, pissed off, disbelieving etc etc.

I saw an interview after the days play and he was laughing about it but you could tell he really wanted to get that score of 100 and realised that it was another golden opportunity missed.
I have been involved in a few run outs over the years (most were my problem) and found it best to talk to the batting partner straight away at one of the breaks and especially after the game. It was a little surprising when Watson mentioned that he and Katich hadn't talked about the incident.
Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"
They would have to be getting frustrated by not getting hundreds, that said, especially Huss & Watson batted superbly.
Just on that run out, Watson can sook as much as he wants, and Katich was ball watching, but, Watson should also have one eye on Katich, you don't just run & keep running when your team mate isn't responding, crazy stuff.
Surprising declaration from Ponting as Hauritz makes a 75
I thought it was just a tad early but as critical as I am about Ponting as a captain, I really can't knock this decision. An aggressive decision which gave Australia a good crack at them before tea, ending up with a wicket. It helps Australia on the front foot, clearly out there to do nothing other than win.
