Watched a fair bit of game 1 and 2,really good quality ball games. Great to have it on Fox,but the camera work needs some attention. Honestly looked like the work experience kids on the cameras. Great to hear Jon Deeble [being an old monarch] on the box. Very good crowds expected 4 to 6 thousand tonight and with a game 3 tommorow expect another sellout.

Season is fast approaching. Anyone going to get down to the Aces games this year?

Hopefully get a look at a few games.
Apparently they've brought home plate back, small right field porch so expect more home runs.
No Japanese players this season however I heard Windsor Knox say they're confident of getting a Royals Catcher over.

Mixed bag for the Aces v Sydney.

I'll be heading down to the Showgrounds on Friday night for the home opener. Looks like we'll get on OK night weather wise. I noticed they haven't gone and got blue shipping containers this season for the ball park when I went for a walk the other night. No more 'Blue Monster.'

Had a listen on SEN's digital coverage. Poor start for the Aces, had some old Monarchs on in Craig Fritter Kernick and Brett Ward. Don't think Francis Leach has called a baseball game but they made a good fist of it

Wasn't a great game from the Aces, bats just didn't capitalise on their chances. Perth were solid. Crowd was OK, if a bit flat.

                    Happy New Year folks.
Went Friday night, good crowd fair to say the result wasn't great.
Going to be hard to get a crowd NYE and hot weather. Not a ball park for baseball purists, as not many pitching duels in that ballpark. Good little boutique park, just a pity about the team being ordinary!

                      Went again tonight .
Aces gave the Adelaide Bite a flogging 11 1
Smaller crowd than last Friday night, but an enjoyable night.
Good defensive performance for a change

Went last night. First time I'd ever seen a walk off win .
The Aces winning today are heading to the play offs, either second or third.
The table is interesting Perth 11 games clear with 1 game between 2nd and 6th.
Ist and second get a double chance with third playing fourth in an elimination 3 game series.
                        Go Aces

A walk off win is when the team batting second scores the run that takes them to the lead in the 9th innings or later and thus ends the game. Eg the team batting second in the 9th innings is one run down with a runner on 2nd, if the better hits a home run two runs score and the players walk off. That's a walk off home run.

PS, the Aces game today wasnt a walk off win. The Aces were in front after the top of the 9th innings so didn't need to bat a final time.

Went to my first game the other night and really enjoyed it($5 stubbies helped), although the Aces lost 5-2.

Good to hear they are playing finals, would be keen to attend.
