Entertaining for the neutrals though. Where would the Gooners be without RVP? In cracking form.

That was actually a great game to watch full of incidence and lots of goals.

I know right -- classic old-school English first division game, a real throwback to the '70s and '80s. Funny, considering that 90% of the players and both managers weren't English (although I guess Lampard, Terry and Walcott -- how good was his goal! -- all whom played big parts in that game, are...)

It's just classic EPL entertainment, which is what they do better than the more technical La Liga and Serie A.

Yes funny how the players were mainly non British. I don't watch alot of soccer as I find it can be boring, but really enjoyed this one, plus I am a Gunners fan

Surely now the Mackems must get rid of Steve Bruce. Losing 2-1 to Wigan has to be the final straw. Sunderland supporters will vote with their feet.

Sunderland should have been 3 or 4 goals up at half time in that game. Got caught out pushing everyone up at the end looking for the winner.

Big result for Newcastle, drawing 1-1 at Old Trafford. What made it even more noteworthy was the fact that they received a penalty at Old Trafford, something away sides rarely receive. Absolutely shocking decision to award it though. Ferdinand clearly got the ball.

Seem to be seeing so many awful penalty decisions lately & unlike AFL, just one decision can have such a profound influence. Same with awarding of red cards.

Terrible decision . As much as it pains me I think the Bitters( City) will win it .
United's midfield doesn't fill me with great confidence. City have every spot covered and some.
As much as I Love Steve Bruce, he's gone as Sunderland have spent.
Steve Keane somehow is surviving, which is surprising considering the massive fan angst.

Well Scraggers, you got your wish with Sunderland sacking Steve Bruce. Early favourite to replace him is boyhood Sunderland fan Martin O'Niell.

Thanks TCD, I didn't realise the axe had fallen ... I'm sad in a way; I liked Bruce. Oh well, onwards and upwards.

                          No great shock there.

The Beeb going with O'Niell at Sunderland.

Confirmed now. Martin O'Niell has signed a 3 year deal to manage Sunderland.

The last three games are going to be costly come the end of the season. Should have been three victories but all we could manage were 1 all draws

Hopefully AVB can add some good players to the squad in January(some papers are reporting we have a $150 mil transfer budget). Gary Cahill looks a cert. It would be lovely to get a Hazard, Kaka, Higuain, Rodwell or Krasic too.
                              The curse is dead.

Typical Chelsea thinking, if it aint working, buy more, more & more.

I really despise Chelsea, soulless, smug, self indulgent. A glorified pub team with a Sugar Daddy.
