A note of caution for Newcastle & Tottenham fans, if Chelsea win the Champion's League, then England are only permitted to nominate another 3 clubs (along with Chelsea as Champions)!

It's cool. I support the Bulldogs, I'm used to finding new and sexy ways to experience disappointment.

        Seriously, please no.

          Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread

4-4 at Old Trafford has blown the title race wide open again. Everton twice came back from a 2 goal deficit - can't remember that ever happening at Old Trafford in the Premier League era.

Man City's fate is now back in their own hands again as they have the better goal diffrence than Man Utd. If they beat Wolves later today they will be 3 points adrift and they play Man Utd before the season is out.

Looks like it's down to the game at their place.
Giving up a 2 goal lead twice isn't going to make The boss happy!
The hair dryer might be out I'd imagine

              Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread

So a draw for United & a win for City, 3 pts the diff & its all to play for at Eastlands next week.

Man Utd to play: Man City (a), Swansea (h), Sunderland (a)
Man City to play: Man Utd (h), Newcastle (a), QPR (h)

Harder run in for City with that Newcastle game, could be pivotal.

Sweet victory for Roy Hodgson at Anfield.

Liverpool had something like 22 shots to West Broms 2. They've hit the woodwork on at least 2 occasions and the baggies cleared 3 off the line. Liverpool getting no luck this season.

Over the course of a season the luck evens out & yes Liverpool have hit the woodwork more than all other teams, but it doesn't hide the fact that they've been a major disappointment, perhaps somewhat glossed over due to good Cup runs.

Interesting fact is Roy had a better record than Kenny and he got the chop!

                      Re: 2011-12 EPL Thread

The last automatic promotion place has gone down to the wire. Southampton are 2 points ahead of West Ham & should win against relegated Coventry at home to clinch promotion.

If Saints draw & the Hammers defeat Hull at home they'll both finish on 86 points & Southampton have a goal difference that's superior by 3.

If they both finish on 86 points & West Ham win by 3 goals, then West Ham will be promoted by virtue of scoring more goals.

Pep Guardiola apparently announced he will leave Barcelona this summer and might take a sabbatical.

However his agent says he wants to test himself in the English premier league.

Southampton have now also been promoted to the Premier League, joining Reading.

                          The plays offs are:

                          West Ham (3) v Cardiff (6)
                          Birmingham (4) v Blackpool (5)

From memory Birmingham, Blackpool & West Ham were all relegated from the Premier League last season.

I see Coventry are in trouble now apparently they rent the stadium and rely heavily on the Championship league money to pay for it.
Getting relegated will really hurt them,

                                Nice win by Wigan.

For a season that seemed to be spiralling out of control RDM has done a magnificent job at Chelsea and would now be a huge chance to keep it for next season.
