You must be happy after this morning? Everton were woeful even with the bad luck.

In a way. I'm one of those Arsenal supporters who'd prefer us to concentrate on winning the EPL rather than being content with finishing in 4th position every year. Missing out on a ECL spot might not have been the worst result for the short term future of the club.


Then again the Champions League is worth a lot more next year and we don't want to fall even further behind the top clubs.

Well played Chef, the game was played how everyone knew it would be, very boring and closed down defence. But thought all along Pool would deal with the tactics.

But like Homer Simpson we kept trying to walk through a closed door over and over again, bloody disappointing when even blind Freddy could see it wasn't working trying to toe poke your way through 9 defenders. We got out managed Jose keeping Ba up the ground kept Skertl away from the crosses and corners because Johnson isn't quick enough, bloody frustrating watching and seeing no response to it. To me skertl is the key his presence in the box when it's in the air is so important but he was taken out the picture. Even when we had a corner (14) and got into position they were flat and low so we just played terrible and didn't handle it.

Passes were off, flat as a tack. No movement. With that defending you got to pump it in over the top to some height and power not expect sterling to jump over some big Russians it's just not going to happen.

Gerard 146 odd touches he was trying to be everywhere maybe wanted it to much, to much pressure on himself maybe it put to much on everyone else. Because we played like we were to scared of making an error. Lost the free flowing way that got us here, tightened up as they say. So him slipping was probably always going to happen. But I heard the bloke who waters the ground the day before had his house burned down lol.

So kudos to ya, still don't think you can win the league and trust City score early but Palace at home is tricky so we need a draw.

I will say that if the League goes down to GD instead of a playoff it will seriously test my love of the game. I don't know the last time it happened I'm assuming a few years, but rewarding the team who has the least goals kicked against them and not the team who just gets the most is a serious flaw and back to front rule that will take the last of my hair away.

Good on ya though hope the CL goes well, and hope Jose doesn't give em germs.

It's made a difference to us, that and FA exit. Just being able to prepare and concentrate on the league. But the only problem is you can't sign any top players to get you the league and have to hold onto your own top players without the CL.

So you have to have the list able to win it without adding a transfer. Do you think you already have the list capable of winning it right now?

Excellent. Watched the game in bed and really struggled to get to sleep after it, got 4 hours I reckon.................but still not going to be a grumpy prick today.

Still feeling like a wasted season.

We defended like demons once again. Pretty sure in 12 games against the top 7 clubs we've let in 4 goals

Doubt we would make up a 7GD gap in 2 games.

But defending is easily as important as attacking. I think people get to wrapped up in the entertainment side of sport, this is a results business. But then again we did score 2 away and hold you goalless so it aint all defending.

What sporting competition in the world doesn't have a goals for & against based system? I understand you're frustrated you lost, but there's more to the game than simply scoring.

Huge game for us v Everton away, but it's our to lose again.

Not really frustrated anymore we did nothing to adapt and made mistakes but basically choked. 12 straight is a pretty amazing run and with each win pressure grows. Or we just got to the front too early lol whatever.

What I meant regarding the serious flaw, If Pool and City win their remaining games the league will be decided on GD which basically means the winning team of the FLAG in our terms is the team who has the least goals kicked against them. If anything I think it should go strate to a playoff not have to be even on GD.

It's like the AFL grand final being decided on Percentage.

Not saying defence is not important. Just think attacking should be rewarded first.

Or better yet see the flaw in the debate and just have a playoff!
