Yes Liverpool had a great season, granted.
But the facts are they had a 1997 moment, as the league was there to be won and the question will remain whether they'll get another chance like that in the next few seasons.
Chelsea will improve their squad, City will get stronger, and I know Liverpool fans hope United head into the abyss, but what they hope might happen might be different to reality.
Manchester United have obviously had a tumultuous shit season, but I'll take that as the last 20 have been beyond anyone's wildest dreams .
Hardly a 97 moment, that was a truly soul destroyingly awful day, where we lost a game we should have won to put one win away from the flag. Liverpool were riding the impossible dream, in the end they would have needed 43 points from the last 45 to clinch the title (if city win this week), that's 14 out of 15 wins when no one thought they had a chance. Chelsea out played Liverpool and a slip changed the game, Chelsea also defeated City on their turf. We through it away against Palace but they were trying to turn 3 goals into 6 or more but the bubble was burst by the blues.
97 we should have won, sliding doors moment.
Liverpool this year stepped past their goal and may fail by a slim margin while over reaching. Disappointing but overall highly encouraging.
Chelsea and City will get incrementally stronger but Liverpool have a greater potential for improving their squad. They have more room to move anyway as the benches aren't as crowded on Merseyside
How do Liverpool have a greater potential to improve their squad over Chelsea, City or United?
I'd hazard to guess if Chelsea had a decent strike force they'd have walked the league in.
Stories circulating in the UK on the future of Louis Suarez, with Barca and Real Madrid circling .
The seas parted for Liverpool to win the league, and they blew it.
It's been a great season, but it's a missed opportunity

Not sure about City, these FFP sanctions could be stalling for them in the Summer transfer period.
One things for sure, Chelsea will have a stronger group of strikers next season.

Yep, to me they've missed the moment too. This was their year and they blew it, who knows when an opportunity like this will come around again.
Won't be surprised to see Suarez off now he's got Pool into CL football.
Chelsea has almost two teams worth of players, same with City. Liverpool do not, hence more room to improve the depth and spot competition. Liverpool also lack clearly in a few first team spots.
A new player at Liverpool will have more chance of actually playing than at Chelsea, that will be a consideration for all but people like Torres.

The top of the tree players that you need to be a great side aren't going to take a pay cut to come to Pool, you will still need to offer huge wages. Plus Torres went to Chelsea just as much to win stuff(which he has) as he did for the pay rise.
Going to be interesting to see how the handle the extra work load now that they're back in ECL football.

There is always next season and the one after, who knows when the next opportunity will come. If it is next year it will be less surprising than this year.
Wont be surprised to see a massive fee come liverpool's way if Luis does go, which he may not. He kicked 31 of 100.

We have some top of the tree players, I'm sure we can land more.
We do pay huge wages but not silly huge.
We are currently a great side.
You need the right players for the team anyway. A team that fights for each other is better than hired guns.
Must be fun to win stuff that other people won for you.
I will get sick of replying soon... I promise
