    It certainly is looking a bit bare, and I believe we knew this was coming with the amount of retirements we've had in the previous few years. I think we're still ok, and I feel that a few of the guys you named in that 2nd XI would do alright if given the opportunity consistently in the test arena.

    It's just the consistency that is suffering at the moment. When we have a few players out of form, we don't have someone we can rely on to really dig in and battle.
    Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

      I give you Hussey/Hayden. Ponting is capable (Ashes 156) but as you have mentioned needs form, while Symonds like what Gilly used to be in that he can rebuild an innings without having to really grind it out
