3rd Test Australia v England - WACA Perth

I think an unchanged side is in order.

Anyone think a change should be made?

Win this one and Ashes are in the bag.

    No change.

Hughes isn't in front of Rogers to those who matter.

Only change I would consider is Faulkner for Lyon and that is simply a horses for courses approach. Spinners rarely do well in Perth.

What about on the batting side, any WA players knocking on the door? I remember bringing in Damien Martyn for the Perth test in the past
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Not sure he's in good enough form to be considered.

Unchanged for mine. Lets test Lyon on a less friendly surface. Can't see England dropping Swann.

In a way, England should really be dropping Swann. Panesar outperformed him in Adelaide.

I'm sure they'll stick with Swann, but I think the better move for them is to play Monty.

Lyon has to play in Perth, to me his biggest weapon is his dip and bounce. Seeing as he isn't a big turner of the ball, I think his ability to get quite steep bounce may trouble the English batsmen at Perth.

              Unchanged side for me.

                Agree.

Also the first 3 days at this stage are forecast to be 36 degrees, having a spin option to take on a lot of overs could be vital.

                  Agree with this.

Monty actually bowled better and batted with more resolve. However, there is no doubt that they will stick with Swann

Our batsmen, particularly Warner, Clarke and Haddin - have relentlessly attacked Swann. He's been going for 4+ per over and not getting any sort of rhythm. I hope he plays in Perth.

He's got 4-400 and made 13 runs from 4 innings, I think everyone is hoping he plays.

What's the chances Swann could go home with another "stress related illness" before either the Perth or Melbourne Tests. He would be at the front of the queue you'd suspect.

Poor Swanny, it's hard to take wickets when the pitches aren't doctored in your favour.

Lyon has to play in Perth, as there needs to be balance in the attack.
Just hope they don't fall for the three card trick of bowling to short.
