Vics get a nice win against a very inexperienced NSW side.

Re: Sheffield Shield 2014/15
My boy Burns hit a nice 96 before trying to slap his way to a century with the number 11 at the non strikers end and top edging to the keeper. Looked very good once again but it wasn't enough to stop South Australia at home as Chad Sayers routed them with 6/34 to go with his first innings 3/48. He should be there about's for a call up to the test squad, as close in action and type to Vernon Philander as you could ask for, perhaps slightly slower. -

Chaddddd (think I got that right) would have to be close, depending on how far off the injured guys are (how far off are they anyway?). Hazlewood has looked great in the Matador and Cummins has not, but that shouldn't count anyway.- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

Re: Sheffield Shield 2014/15
With the bat I like him, nice and compact with a clean swing of the blade and is typically West Australian with his back foot play. I'm not convinced he can play the moving ball though, his runs have all come on flat tracks when the ball isn't doing much and any time the ball has swung his edges look a big target so he's still got a lot to prove.
I don't really see why they persist with him as anything other than a part time medium pacer though, he's 130kph at most and very straight up and down.
In short- with bat yes. Solid technique with good power.
With ball not particularly. Very pedestrian medium pace with no real weaponsComment

What do you think of that young guy whose name I can't remember that hit a 150?

Re: Sheffield Shield 2014/15
Throws down some medium seamers in the Andrew McDonald mould. Doesn't have the put it on a penny accuracy of Macca though, nor does he swing it around like James Hopes. Not sure his bowling is above grade level to be honest. If he makes it, it will be down to his battingComment

Re: Sheffield Shield 2014/15
Shaun Marsh tossing his hat back in the ring for the number 3 spot with a century for WA, Rod Marsh is a big fan so it wouldn't surprise me at all...his ton did come from number 5 though, Klinger was at 3, Voges at 4Comment

Re: Sheffield Shield 2014/15
A few potential test number 3's made runs today. I hate to harp on him but he's been my boy for a few years, Joe Burns hit his highest score of 183 from just 255 balls after opening. Callum Ferguson has taken to number 3 for South Australia like a duck to water, he's 137 n.o to go with his previous scores of 100*, 65*, 15 & 0 for the year.Comment
