Re: 1st Test v India - Adelaide Oval

I'll never understand the night watchman move. I could possibly understand it in the last few overs of day 4...but at 4 (or 5) down on the first day of a test match, with plenty of runs on the board, it is so defensive and I think, the wrong mindset for the rest of the batting line up.

Amazing ton from Smith. Amazing tribute when bringing up his ton, lump in the throat stuff.

Great ton from the captain as well. Averaging 98 in Adelaide test matches over the past few years

Doing nicely at the moment with Smith no 142, Clarke 105

Clarke is one hell of a captain, I've been an enormous fan but I never expected this kind of steel lay in the man. I wonder whether he'll be tempted to declare overnight if we get no more cricket? I would be, throw it down to the Indians

They are finally about to get some cricket in.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

People can say what the like about a perceived NSW bias but 3 excellent centuries in this innings speaks volumes for the way the develop players

Very good point, three players given first class opportunity when young and raw...no surprise where they are now. Hint hint Bushrangers

Plus another outstanding young player who might have been playing in this Test as well.

Exactly right . Victorian cricket it seems to revolve around playing for Stkilda or Melbourne.

So Clarke is pretty much infallible after this right? Amazing stuff.

I'm willing to retrospectively call Simon Katich a dickhead if you guys are.
