Yep. In the IPL 2008, but they were on opposing teams.

Smith copping some unfair criticism in my opinion.
The whole idea was to regain the Border/ Gavaskar trophy, and they've done that.
The wicket was still batter friendly, and shouldn't be lost with the t20 , teams can get on a roll quickly.
Scoring 300 on a day 5 on these drop ins isn't out of the question.

It wouldn't have mattered much anyway, some of the drop in pitches produce roads and some don't. This wicket was the former.
          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

The criticism would have been much worse if he'd declared overnight and India had scored the runs.

Well done to the Aussies we won the series and retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy with a game to play.
Smith declaration didn't cost us the match it was the dropped catches and other missed chances.

I think that the Aussie teams precedent of aggressive declarations had proven a winning strategy, on the field and off. It is what the fans want to see, not to mention the punters who put their hard earned on, we took a backwards step in my opinion. The Aussie's got caught in the mind game, sending Lyon out to block 3 balls wtf?

Hopefully as a new captain, Smith will learn something from this 3rd test.

Also would have liked to have seen us bowl the last four overs, slim chance but you never know.

Absolutely agree, was the perfect example of the lackluster approach we took to that 5th day.

I was at the ground and the crowd were...confused when they headed for the stands to say the least

Sometimes ( occasionally now) you do get draws in Test cricket.
Smith would have been crucified ( rightly so if the Indians pulled off what they nearly did in Adelaide)

965 runs in the first innings and batting first, a win was always going to be tough
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

I wonder if it were us batting fourth whether we'd have prioritised scoring runs and winning the game over batting time out and winning the series.
