Very good second half from the boys.
    Cahill's goals, just sublime .
That second goal from that distance! Just wow!

          Both were pieces of brilliance.

Felt sorry for the Chinese keeper. It's not often you say the goalie had a terrific game after a 2-0 loss but he was superb. Could have easily been 4 or 5 in the end.

            Yay, Japan out.

Their two best players Honda and Kagawa missing pens in the shootout.

Massive. I had to reload the page because I thought it was an error, huge loss for them. If we get another shot at S.Korea I will be very confident.

A mate of mine has literally copped thousands of abusive msgs on his Facebook page from Iranian supports, unfortunately for him he shares the same name as the referee from last nights game between Iran and Iraq. Just shows how much this event means to people.

Australia should be confident that they can win this tournament. It will be massive achievement for Ange and the team if they do and will certainly continue the rise of football within this country.

South Korea looking very hard to beat at this stage. Defensively they are very strong having conceded zero goals in their five matches thus far. Impressive.

If the final is in Melb they wont beat us again, if we make it I'll be very confident.

It is in Sydney. Definitely think we can win it but we will need to take our chances.

Is absolutely belting down rain here (Newcastle). It will be a very soggy ground tonight as it has not stopped raining since yesterday. Not sure how this will affect the result tonight?
