With Callan Ward has announced his retirement

He played 327 AFL games. That is elite to get to that number of games.

It still saddens me that he did not stay with us, but thats footy...

sorry for the duplicate post. Don't know how to delete my post.

I remember swapping desserts with him because he wanted the chocolate. Really nice youngster.
Lease Plan as the sponsor, that takes you back. It might have been one of their last years.

Now this is something I would explore. He is a great leader and could maybe offer us something within our own football department

Had a great career, old cement head. Apologies for the absolute venom I spewed your way during the 2016 prelim, I was not myself that night.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

Cam Ward, Cement Head, born Bulldog is being interviewed by Hamish McLaughlin now on telly.
So far only Giants' stuff, I'm deaf without the hearing aids I've lost so details are lost.
A Heath Ledger look-a-like (why do I think of Ned Kelly, who learnt masonry early in Pentridge and was part of building a bluestone bridge in inner west, still there)and still a Son of 'Scray who left and never returned as far as I know.

Look I go lateral but good lateral.
                Cam Ward-Heath Ledger-Ned Kelly.
Ned saved Richard Shelton, from drowning. Ned was 10 and big for his age – Richard was 6 – or 7, or 5 depending on which resource you believe.
Shelton's descendent was VFL great "Bluey" Shelton who also was a great ABC commentator the seniors amongst us remember.
Bluey can thank Ned, who was given a silk sash by Shelton's father and he wore it standing to shoot to kill and be shot at to be killed at Glenrowan.

Your venom was totally justified every day and twice on Sundays. On that particular night, fark him.

What I want to know is did anyone have an onion tied to their belt?

Cal's side of the story on his Bulldogs exit was interesting and you can't blame him at all in hindsight. Our club has certainly been better off since James Fantasia left.

Umm methinks further removed, Richard born 1850s so Bluey born about 1940.
My ggf x3 around in Ned's era and area.
Shelton's owned the Avenal pub I think it was when Ned saved Richard.
They were going to school, kids, river high and fast, winter. Ned saw younger Richard had fallen in and jumped in, a brave and tough bastard. No evidence Ned could swim.
They went straight to the pub.
Ned was born in 1854, the year of Eureka Stockade, a few years before Shelton and 100 years before me.

Just looked up defenders who won a Brownlow to look for Brad Hardie who AI didn't mention yet records he played back pocket in winning it.
Who can forget the stocky running weaving bouncing out of defence?
Wanganeen won it playing back in '93.
Defence was full on storming attack, playing against Malthouses instructions.
He was Bears top goal scorer playing forward.

I wish he defended within 50 metres of Leigh Matthews in the last qtr of the 1985 prelim. I bet Mick Malthouse wishes he did as well.

This is so on brand for Bailey...

Bailey Smith hooks up with recently separated Tammy Hembrow as Hembrow’s ex Matt Zukowski responds: ‘We only broke up eight weeks ago’

The AFL star has been spotted making out with Tammy Hembrow weeks after her marriage breakdown, leaving Hembrow’s devastated ex-husband to question “how someone can move on so quickly”.

Former reality star and podcaster Matt Zukowski has expressed his shock after it emerged his ex, fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow, has been captured kissing Geelong star Bailey Smith on the Gold Coast.

Hembrow, who revealed in June that her marriage to Matt Zukowski had broken down after just seven months, was seen with Smith at Burleigh Pavilion and the swanky Rick Shores restuarant on Saturday after Geelong’s Friday night win over Essendon.

It’s believed the pictures have been circulating and may soon be published.

One onlooker told the Herald Sun they were making out for hours and holding hands.

Smith, 24, who just signed a deal with dating app Tinder, is also single and one of the most eligible bachelors in the country.

When contacted about the development a devastated Zukowski said: “I heard about this and it’s not a nice feeling.

“We only broke up eight weeks ago. I just don’t understand how someone can move on so quickly. It’s been 48 days and I’m still trying to work out how I feel as a person after committing in marriage to someone. I’m trying to focus on myself and heal.”

Hembrow, 31, mother of three and former Love Island contestant Zukowski, announced they would be divorcing following months of break-up rumours.

“I wanted to finally tell you guys that I am getting a divorce,” Hembrow said, through tears. “Did I think this was going to happen? No. Did I want this? No. Obviously, when you marry someone, you do it thinking that it is going to be forever.”

Zukowski said: “Both of us have struggled with making this decision, however we need to do what is right.”

Hembrow and Zukowski tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Byron Bay in November 2024.

She has three children to two other men: ex-fiance Reece Hawkins, and ex-fiance Matt Poole.

“Obviously, the worst part for me is that I have kids,” she said. “I don’t care about me, I know I’ll be okay.”

Just last week Hembrow set tongues wagging by posting a video with Hawkins whom she split with in 2018.

She posed with the two kids they share, Saskia, 9, and Wolf, 10.

“Whole gang’s here,” she captioned the post, which has amassed nearly 900,000 likes and 11.8 million views.

Fans flooded the comments section, with many hoping that Hembrow and Hawkins would rekindle their relationship.

However Hawkins is off the market after appearing on the social media of fitness influencer Liv Kelly, who previously dated troubled Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.
