I am a polar opposite here. Ward has been such an honest competitor and all round great bloke IMO- I just can't hate the guy. Also, we had a chance to keep him- so there is all that.

If GWS won the flag this year, Ward getting one would have been the part I was most ok with.

Spot on. His trade value is already in the bin, we don't gain anything by trading him this year rather than next year except cap space.

He signed a big money contract and within 12-months derailed a finals game and has turned 2025 into a circus. No chance I'm letting him waltz out to Sydney after that without them putting something on the table which resembles his potential.

I'd rather he spends 2026 away from the club than receive a late-second round draft pick and some cap space this year.
