Subscriber article. Can anyone post it?

Disappointing that the story has turned around onto Chick and the timing of the release. Maximum exposure here is a good thing.

The Eagles were a disgrace during the whole period and Worsfold apparently not knowing anything about it is rubbish.

Thanks for clarifying - assuming that was in the (known Hawks fan) Panahi article? I only read The Age piece.

From all reports at the time, Chick was allegedly one of the main ring leaders and it was a lot more than prescription drugs.

I wonder if he did anything like that at The Hawks

No club would have been exempt from drug use today or in Chicks day.

That is true, but the difference inferred by the article is that Hawthorn were concerned with player welfare, while West Coast flagrantly ignored and in fact facilitated the use of various drugs.

Wouldn't need to be a long bow to suggest that's why he was traded out of the club.

Just wondering if you think this would have/does include the Western Bulldogs. An Essendon supporter friend claimed they are hard done by because they admitted to something many clubs would do but not admit.

                          Would be a long bow.

Chick requested the trade to be with his family after the sudden death of his brother due to anaphylactic shock. His wife of the time tried vainly to get him to stay in Melbourne and Hawthorn were reluctant but agreed to trade him.

This was also well documented at the time of the trade.

No worries. I am amused to see ripper Rita's foray into 'real' journalism after all her righteous indignance about other clubs is an expose on a former Hawthorn player. I'm suprised to see the Hawks survived her searching probe of their culture unscathed.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Some North players were on the 'pink lady' during recovery for the Grand Final replay V Collingwood in 70 whatever. Krackers is on record as saying so. Pink lady is morphine and something else.

I'm not big on details as you can tell.
