As it was he got injured himself and will probably miss a couple of weeks anyway.
3 weeks was about right. Had it been intentional then he would have got 5 or 6.

That was violently reckless at best.
I think with the outcome he will.

It's going to be one those nauseating ones where all the old school tough guys argue it was just "part of the game".

I think it could be 3-5 weeks however I don't know exactly what the charge will be.

I'm not sure Archer will be suspended, or even asked to answer a case.

Rubbish or otherwise, the rules of the game probably give him an out because he kept his feet.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

It's a fair point, I feel it could be 0 or 5 I have no idea.

Looking at this could be rough conduct, careless, severe and high which is straight to tribunal.

That’s true and already playing out. I noticed that a lot of people’s initial reaction was concern for Archer’s leg. The “below the knees” farce strikes again. Ruining people’s perception of what a fair contest is.

Cleary took possession of the footy under pressure, loses his footing. Archer charges with reckless intent, makes no attempt to play the footy, or avoid contact to the head. 2-3 weeks wouldn’t be unreasonable.

I agree. If you can get done for tackling a player in a rough manner, then you should get done for charging carelessly at a player low down going for the ball.

Prediction : Nothing happens - typical AFL. Now if it was a Pies player or other big club, different story.

If it was Cleary going the ball in that fashion solo, without substantial pressure pushing him forward then it's a different discussion. I noticed the commentary, especially from Brereton was super concerned for Archer's wellbeing, which was perverted in the extreme.

Took him about 20 seconds to notice the motionless Bulldogs player.

Loved watching Zurhaar kick 1.4. Big tough guy could have been the matchwinner if he was as good as he thinks he is.

I think this is going to be a pretty divisive one in the footy community, as Cleary certainly instigated a lot of the contact with the way he attacked the football...but Archer was completely reckless in his approach and deserves the ban imo.

Fundamentally disagree with the first part there Jazza, though it is a position many are taking. I don’t get it. Cleary doesn’t instigate anything. He takes possession of a loose ball. Seems like a lot of gymnastics to avoid just calling out a shit effort.

                              Charging covers it.
