Starting to take shape.
Is it almost impossible to argue any of these, or who do they replace if you remove one?
Data-driven, not opinion.
I am not fading Baily Smith, and he might be the Brownlow favourite (That says more about the Brownlow and the limitation of a 3-2-1 voting system), however, the data does not support the media's constant love-in with Baily. He is an elite runner, getting a lot of the ball and good on him. However, I believe he is still not a Top 10 Inside Mid.
Backs:
Taylor - Moore - Wilkie - Ash - Sinclair - Dale - (Wanganeen-Milera)
Outside:
Z Bailey - Dempsey
Inside:
Richards - Brayshaw - Anderson (Libba - McCluggage)
Ruck:
Xerri
Forwards:
Thilthorpe - Cameron - Pickett - Martin - Long - Elliot (Hogan)

I would think to warrant a spot as a forward you need to be averaging more than 1 goal a game and be very high up on the score involvement & goal assist list. (Martin is outside the top 40 in both categories)Comment

Yeah, fair. He is that link player though, and doing a hell of a job of it. In a way, he is his own position. No one else on that team would be filling his role. Can see the Dons falling away big time from here anyway, it will resolve itself.Comment

I am going with running inside mids, who also get a lot of outside ball as my wings. Need to pick a method and stick to it.
Elliot is probably the No. 1 player in the comp, from this team, in terms of out-performing his role (Pound for Pound).
Darcy would be, and it ain't close if he qualified.
Bont on a Bullet and is in the team if he plays 16 games at this rate.
Baily Dale is the best kick in the AFL, and it ain't close. By the same margin, Darcy is the best kick of any big man.
Bailey Smith and Nick Daicos are still not even close, but neither was Serong 3 weeks ago, and he is now in.
Max Holmes is by far and away, a better footballer than Smith.
Backs:
Taylor - Wilkie - Blakey - Ash - Sinclair - Dale - (Zorko)
Outside:
Holmes - McCluggage
Inside:
Richards - Brayshaw - Anderson (Jackson- Serong)
Ruck:
Xerri
Forwards:
Hogan - Cameron - Pickett - Elliot - West - Miller (Keays)
