Why is Baker suddenly a great clubman?
He carries on like a peanut on-field (and always has), he changed WAFL clubs after turning 18 (blamed West Perth for not 'getting him drafted') and left Richmond who helped him win a few flags (to be fair, he helped them) as soon as the tide turned for a big $ offer back home?
Would love this explained to me.
It's almost like that instance of the Tiger team didn't really care too much who they played for as long as they won. I think that makes sense.BT COME BACK!

I haven't followed Richmond closely enough to really comment on their list (other to say that flogging them in all our recent games has been fun as hell!), but if the players can't commit to their club, the club ought to chuck them and get in players who will fight for their colours. Might hurt a bit initially, but in the long run I reckon they'd be better for it.

North Melbourne had something similar 12 months after Brad Scott left - scorched earth. It hasn't gone well for them.Western Bulldogs: 2016 PremiersComment

Back in the day it was piles of drugs and jumping a bridge to run from the cops. Now in 2025, the West Coast player going to court took a whiz on a fence at a music festival. Times change.Comment

I am old school when it comes to players being approached during the season, but Captains is even worse. Let the player managers make some inquiries, but players should not be involved, or coaches. How will Oscar now lead the team with players not trusting he has his heart in the job.FFC: Established 1883

It will be interesting to see how the Eagles players handle it.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"👍 1Comment

Jeremy McGovern has been medically retired by the AFL’s concussion panel.
What a shame to finish on 197 games - hopefully he has a healthy life in the futureFFC: Established 1883

Are we the only code that frowns on players talking to other clubs during the season ?.
NRL players do it all the time , indicate to their club they are moving next year .
All the American clubs , Basketball , football , hockey , baseball ,all have players looking at other clubs during their season , and it dosnt seem to interfere with them playing or being trusted , because its the norm to them , team mates think nothing of it , or at least dont react to players leaving .
The AFL almost sits alone in this category , where its frowned upon , i dont know why really , because theses days football is a job to them and a huge number chase the money , which isnt wrong to be looking after your long term future .
Will the AFL fall into line with the rest of the sporting codes and accept players and managers seeking better contracts from oppostion sides during the season , i think its heading that way .
I personally dont like it , in fact i hate our players even talking about leaving but the writtings on the wall , and more and more top players will change clubs during their careers.👍 1Comment
