If some of the train-ons should be on a list, that's cool. But there are quite a few on the squad and IN THE TEAM who should NOT be on a list.
The calls for the girls to be fully professional are so far off the mark. FIRST, you are professional. THEN, you are paid as a professional. This is where some of the perennially cellar dwelling mens teams (dare I say, including ours) have gotten things wrong in the past. You could look pretty easily at a club like Gold Coast where players are paid as professionals despite not demonstrating those behaviours...the pay cheques keep rolling in though.
Players not getting their extras done? That's simply rubbish. And we can blame the coach - it sounds to me like he's trying to enforce some stuff - and this becomes easy if it is ONE person who doesn't toe the line. If it is a whole group of people, what do you do? You have to send a side out on the field.
There's no doubt something is awry with our AFLW program right now. There is something awry with the men as well. Maybe this is all connected and we have some genuine issues in leadership that need to be addressed. I loved listening to KWW on the Danny/Boyd pod and she sounded awesome...but maybe it's her. Maybe it's Ameet? Whatever it is, it's something.
