    Re: 2023 AFL Finals Series

Going to be a warm 28 degree grand final day. Does that play into Brisbane's hands? They're not only used to the conditions but also Collingwood may struggle to maintain their mayhem brand.

Collingwood have been the better side this year but McStay out won't help them with their already lack of key forwards. I think Brisbane might get the win.

Warm weather will assist Brisbane (more because Collingwood's midfield is so slow), but the reality is that Collingwood have been in average form for 2 months now, and you can't just flick the switch at this time of year. They have a good half-dozen key players who are in an extended run of poor form.

What they do have is an amazing back 6 that are hiding a lot of sins elsewhere on the ground - that is why they are winning games of footy barely kicking 50-60 points. But unless their forwards and mids (De Goey aside) significantly lift their output, Brisbane has many and varied forward weapons that should cause all sorts of problems on Saturday.

I get why the filth are favourites with the bookies, but on form Brisbane should be the favourite.

Yeah I feel the same way Sedat, think if Brisbane can hit the scoreboard they will win regardless of the weather.

Pies are very fast starters, and Brisbane will want to get out of the blocks much quicker than they did in the PF.

Bland fajita is just about the most important player in the GF - if he can blanket De Goey like he did Cripps on the weekend, Brisbane will have one hand on the cup.

I'm very opposite. I thought the Pies GWS final was the GF. It was as hard a contest as you're ever likely to see.

The Lions v Blues was bruise free home and away stuff.

No way the Lions can match the Pies intensity, they're going to get pasted - and let's not forget it's at the Pies home ground and the ground where the Lions have nfi.

Interesting take - wouldn't the fact that the Pies had a brutal game while the Lions skated through mostly have an impact?

Thinking back to 2016 - Cats Swans at the G was a pretty easy prelim from memory. We were hardened.

You're right but EW is saying that we would've pantsed the swannies if we had had an easier time against the giants.

Secondly to that they should have beaten melbourne this year again there.

                              MCG hoodoo is non existent.
