Who will be this year's Rising Star?

IF THE 2014 NAB AFL Rising Star Award goes the way our writers expect then it will be a very close race between the Western Bulldogs' Marcus Bontempelli and Brisbane Lion, Lewis Taylor.

There's no doubt midfielder Bontempelli has provided some amazing highlights and a genuine goal-of-the-year contender, but many of theAFL.com.au writers preferred the consistency of small forward Taylor.

Bonti needs a big one against the Giants to seal the deal. Because as mentioned in this article the AFL will do everything in it's power to ensure the academy player from an expansion market, gets the nod.

Everyone says it doesn't matter, but I will be filthy if The Bont doesn't win this award.

WTF? Just emphasises there are to many people reporting on the game at the moment .

Stringer has a great highlights reel, Bont's has stood up this season and been a leader on the field.
Like you I won't be upset if he doesn't win it, but IMO he deserves it.

Sorry to buck the trend, but he's easily been the best eligible kid this year. By manufacturing a plastic team's kid to win it almost justifies Dwayne Russell's question to Bonts about whether he was concerned about being drafted by us. Just let sport be sport and let manufactured entertainment be just that.

We have never won this award and really deserve it this year. Bonti has been sensational and he is the best kid I have seen over 190cm since Chris Grant.
