Bontempelli lost the AFL Rising Star by one vote and won the Players’ Association Best First Year Player in a landslide with 343 votes from St Kilda’s Luke Dunstan (69) and Taylor (62).

There was something decidedly fishy about the way Taylor all of a sudden became the bolter of the 2014 Rising Start Award, day after day major media personnel seemed to jump on his bandwagon.

By no means do I believe King has done anything wrong, but this adds to the theory that something wasn't quite right with the award.

There quite a few people in the footy/media with gambling problems as well. A tip like that can be a life saver in that situation.

It would depend on if King tried to influence and sway the voting by being over exuberant with his media portrayal of Taylor and the opposite with the other candidates.
Not sure how much influence King would have but his opinion does seem to hold some regard in the media.
One would think if you are involved in any portion of the game, from boot strapper, player or commentator you shouldn't be allowed to bet on the AFL.
