I think he has been rewarded with past performances and not just this round.
This award could be something really good and something one can strive for if there was more transparency on how they pick the weekly winners. Stringer with his 4.2 was clearly one of the better players of the round.
The selectors have merely looked at the top highest disposal earners and said, well the ones above Cunningham have been nominated so he is next in line with 17 disposals. All without checking out other factors like goals, goal assists etc.FFC: Established 1883

Can't believe we've been stiffed again. I said to my brother when he was lining up for his fifth that if he kicks this he will get the rising star nomination. As we all know he missed but still should have got the nomination.Comment

You have to have played ten or fewer games and be under 21 years of age at the start of the year to be eligible.
