I didn’t say he was the reason. His performance helped them win though and was a shit ton better than what our likely 2022 number 1 ruck coughed up against the same opponent.

I actually like Sweet and think he’ll be ok in time but our strategy for next year is bonkers.

That's the sticking point for me.

We went into 2 cutthroat finals with LEWIS YOUNG as our first ruck.

And Young is gone now, too. I'm not sure on what planet taking 3 rucks into next season is good business when one is 35 and managed 8 and 9 games in the last 2 years and the other is Sweet who has played 5 games and discarded for a rarely selected KPD.

It's concerning going into next season with the same holes but our MC/Coach didn't try to get more games into these guys during the season when given the opportunity. It would have given us more options in the final few weeks.and may not have gone 0 - 3 in those 3 rounds. Sweet was fine in his 5 games and VFL form was decent and I was genuinely surprised Lew got a call up considering he'd been banished as well.

If we played Lew more has a CHB I reckon we'd still have him on our list. A sigh of relief Sweet signed on because I thought he'd go looking for opportunities elsewhere as well.

Do you think we should go for 4 midfielders in the centre square rather than the more traditional set-up?
We tried guys like Dunkley and Jong as support ruck man with very limited results. We could always use Bont.

I'm not sure the comparison is correct. Grigg might have played in two of the flags but in 2017 he had just 6 hit outs and in 2018 he had just 25. I suspect some of those hit outs were boundary line throw in's or 3rd man ruck contests as well.
I don't think we are looking at this the right way.

My argument (do I have one I don't even know) is that yes we need a ruck, yes Bevo has been insanely blinded since the 3rd man up decision but can anyone compete with the Demons rucks?
