Honeychurch was a real key to our success early that being said he's been out for that long it would be hard to bring him straight back although I'd seriously consider it. Why he was out that long? Seems a long spell for someone who was being rested. Injured?

My recollection was he hurt his shoulder and hence why he was subbed out.

I mentioned it on another thread, but I wouldn't be surprised if Caleb Daniel is a late "in". He has made the trip over as a travelling emergency but he played three finals for South Adelaide on this ground last September (averaging about 20 disposals) so he would know the ground better than anyone on our squad.

Think we are just too light on in the midfield

Thoughts on who will be the starting sub, and who will be subbed out?

I think Bailey will be the starting sub, and either Minson or McLean will be subbed out.

The club went for rested as the official reason but he definitely hurt his shoulder in the last game he played.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Need to bring the intensity this week to win. We need to see the men of mayhem.

He brings intensity and gets to contests. I don't expect he will just switch back on but if he's right to go I would have expected him to come back in sooner rather than later ala Jong.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Anyone think this is worth a bet! Very tempted. Not too sold on Port stocks in the later part of the year.

I will be watching it at Hart's Hotel, Victoria Street, Footscray. The publican is none other than Peter German, who has strong connections to us of course from the Williamstown VFL partnership days when he served as senior coach for Williamstown and development coach for the Bulldogs.

I don't bet on my own team, rarely bet at all anyway but it's worth a bet if you're keen.

Re: Game Day Round 10 2015 - Port Adelaide V Western Bulldogs

Just heard Robbo on SEN saying that he spoke to Leon Cameron after we beat the Giants - apparently they put very little time into stopping our game plan as they were confident theirs would overwhelm us. When we were all over them early the Giants tried everything to stop us - extra at stoppages, plus one behind the ball etc and nothing worked.

I find that interesting because I was confident that our game plan would stop theirs.

Not so sure this week - I think we will struggle againt Port. When they have momentum they play a high tempo "run and gun" style that can overwhelm teams (examples 1st quarter v Hawthorn / 2nd half v Melbourne).

When they don't they play a counter attacking "rope a dope" style, allowing multiple forward entrys but denying the ball in dangerous positions, then launching attacks from the half back line.

Justin Westhoff is key - in the 1st scenario he pushes forward to give them an extra tall in attack and in the 2nd he floats back to block the opposition's forward entries.

We really struggle against teams that play like this - for that reason a win against Port tonight would be very significant in our development - the most likely outcome is a loss of 5 to 10 goals.
