1965 was when they started keeping detailed stats.

There must have been the mother of all gales blowing that day at Whitten Oval - We won 11.5.71 to 7.8.50, however we failed to score at one end, while Melbourne managed just 4 points to that end!

Wind was always blowing from the Geelong Road end north east across the ground.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

I can remember a few days like that out there.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

              Another top 20 one:

Of the players who are in our top 20 for tables on a match, only one is no longer on an AFL list.

I'll be very impressed with whoever picks this one up without peeking.

Phew. I thought I was stupid beyond my normal limits by not understanding the question so stayed silent to see the answers. 5 is a perfectly good answer.

                      It's my stock answer.

And if I can't remember someone's name I always guess Ray. You'd be surprised how seldom either are right.

One day someone will ask you, "Hey that Farren guy who played for the dogs. What was his surname and how many good games did he play for you?". This you're in like Fylnn my friend.

Maybe tables = tackles? Although having a peek at the table there are 2 players by my calculations that are no longer on an AFL in that stat.

Or the '50s yodeller Johnny Ray and some other question to which the answer is 5.

ok Axe Man gets a point for proof reading my post for me.

Top 20 for tackles in a match, one player not on a list any more.

For the record, more than half the list is taken up by Tom Libba and Picken.

                                Would it be Tony Liberatore?
