Well thank the Bulldog gods for that! Research on this suggests 6-8 as opposed to 14-16. We get our gun HBF back mid-year by the looks.

Hope he's right....we're due for a change of fortune.

In 2014, Hawthorn lost Josh Gibson, Sam Mitchell and Brian Lake for 8, 9 and 14 games, and Clarke, and still won 17 games. JJ will come in at the pointy end of the season and smash his way back in. We have to learn to live without him.

* Wood will be available this week

* Suckling no issue with ankle

* Tom Boyd no further damage to shoulder, but seeking medical advice, so should know something in next few days. I suspect we won't take any chances.

Thanks mate! Confirmed by the dogs this morning, 6-8, not the worst result.

The article seemed to suggest further consultation was required.

It's a bit annoying that every journalist big head - who wants to be the 1st to report it/the most 'in the know' - jumps on twitter and suggests 12 weeks, or 4 months - or really whatever they want to speculate, before scans have even happened.

Even that media-wannabe doctor Rohan White, likes to jump to conclusions about how many weeks out and whether surgery is needed - without actually being close to the injured player.
