Clay Smith re-instated to primary list
Clay Smith has been reinstated onto the Western Bulldogs’ primary list, ahead of a return to play this Saturday.
Smith appears set to be named for the Footscray Bulldogs when they face Geelong at Victoria University Whitten Oval this weekend.
Saturday will be Smith’s first match in over 12 months, after injuring his knee in round six 2015 against St Kilda, and undergoing a third ACL repair on his right knee.
With Smith’s return, Jed Adcock has been returned to the Club’s rookie list.
Meanwhile, Josh Prudden has been added to the Club’s long-term injury list.
Prudden ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in a VFL match against Richmond in April.FFC: Established 1883

Patrick Keane (AFL spokesman) tweeted earlier that Jed is back on the primary list with Prudden on the LTIL.

If Adcock was replacing Clay on the Primary list, does that mean he had to be placed back on the Rookie list once Clay came off the LTI list or could Adcock stayed on the Primary list and replaced Prudden ?It's better to die on our feet than live on our knees.Comment

Bevo: Dahl has a medial ligament injury,he'll miss some games but we don't know how long.We don't think it will be an extended period of time.FFC: Established 1883

Rolled ankle from Addams, moon boot doesn't mean it's serious.
Zaine Cordy and Clay Smith were back today,.
Dahls a worry but with Clay killing it and Webb around we can cover .
If we can pull through next week, the bye is perfect . A shame our VFL has a bye the same week.
After the bye hopefully wood , JJ, Stevens and Dahl are back. Addams not sure but we can afford to take our chances next week and rest a few with a two week break .
Rourke smith should be back by then as well.Bring back the biffComment

Yes, an elevation onto the main list is for a specific player, not just a long term injury. So Adcock was specifically in place of Clay Smith and therefore had to drop back to rookie list for Clay Smith to start playing again. Of course, if we wanted to, we could just then put in new paperwork saying that Adcock is being upgraded for Prudden but since we don't need to at the moment, we've held off doing so.Comment
