I’m sure the club is delighted with him overall but there has to be a reason why he wasn’t in the Leadership group this year when he’s one of a handful of players who has been in consistent form over the last 2 years, and considering the group that was chosen.

I’m not sure the ‘consistent form’ line is correct considering he’s been dropped 3 or 4 times over the past 2 years.

He played 22 games in 2017 (3rd in B&F) and 19 this year (injured for a month). Are you thinking of the McCartney years? He was dropped a few times then because (I believe) he wasn’t running both ways or applying enough pressure on players when he was out of the contest.

I think he was dropped in 2016 under Bevo and the same with B-Mac two years earlier

You made me curious, so I checked and he played every game in 2016 until he went down against the cats in rd19 (which we would have won if him and Libba didn’t go down). Then he returned for the elimination final.

I’m talking about Wallis, you’re obviously talking about Macrae.

No issues with Macrae being in the leadership group if selected.
