Am going to suggest a left field selection, but what about Kennedy? Got a ton of footy in the VFL is he worth a punt, replacing Arty/Dolan/McNeil and playing through the middle?

Having a think about it I believe we need to keep Williams back for now, with Richards & Freijah now out of the backline we’re too reliant on only Dale as the primary ball mover with basically no one else down there damaging with their disposal. Teams will wisen up to this soon if they haven’t already and sit on Dale heavily which will stifle our whole ball movement.

Williams stays back for now to offer some classy ball use, as well as experience & composure.

How to replace his wing role? I’d probably give Arty one last chance at it for now, rotating with Harmes and Croft in to pinch hit too. We’re too small up forward considering how much game time Darcy/Naughty need to spend up the ground, on the bench and in the ruck. Croft can give us another target without losing much run because he’s genuinely quick with an elite tank and awesome pressure.

I don’t want to fall into the trap of bringing in ie JOD/Jones for Dolan/Arty - we’ve made some big changes with our speed across the ground and it’s paying dividends.

Id probably go Jones for Buku (harsh on buku) & Croft for Baker, Dolan to sub. It’s a little bit taller but doesn’t dampen our run too much. Williams can chop out Jones & Lobb in the backline

Two key backs is plenty, with Croft able to swing.

Dolan and Arty v Hynes and Croft - not sure we’re losing much despite it being 2 X debuts. We’ve got to find some more avenues to goal (I think this helps) and Croft with his run and versatility could be an important inclusion and help our structures.

          It’s a danger game. I get it.

If we had a full deck I wouldn’t be advocating for that. I guess I’m a dreamer who is picking kids, but while we’ve got capacity to do so with a lot missing, I want to see if these kids may be able to play in September. Now’s our chance.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

            Good justifications!

We should probably acknowledge that we’re a real chance of seeing a player fight a coach if Voss coaches from the boundary and Matt Kennedy gets a well timed rotation

At the very least Kennedy should give us plenty of Intel.

                    L.Jones in - Buku out.

I'd give A.Jones and Dolan one more game to show something.

I just don't see how we can play Arty ahead of Croft.

Arty is a small without clean ball handling and Croft will do everything that Arty does as well as be a viable threat in the air.

Normally you'd argue against it, but Croft has the tank to run back and keep our zone intact. He's about the only tall you'd consider debuting at this point.

                              That is what I see.

A mobile player with speed and endurance who can do everything better than the incumbent and happens to be 2m tall.

It would be exciting to see Croft debut. He certainly offers a point of difference with his height and run.

Williams to stay back. Bring in Jones and drop Duyrea .i would keep Buku in as an intercept defender. Maybe too tall down back but we need cover if Jones struggles with fitness.
