As bad a loss you can remember? Sorry, but that’s a bad call unless you have the memory of a gold fish. [/

it was a horrible loss when you look back on the game

The bottom of the 22 really shows through here, they try hard but there’s so many absolute battlers out there. Baker is terrible, Buku, Bramble, Dolan all offer nothing, Naughty is getting concerning, English is the worst ruck in the league.

Still some positives to take out of the game, we really did dominate but **** me we need to take advantage of forward half possession, it’s just killing us, but yeah there’s a lot of class out of that side. Hopefully JJ back, I’d play Jacques and Hynes too tbh, send Freijah back to the backline where we need him. Potentially even send JOD back and play Croft. Would be nice if Marra wasn’t an absolute waste of a talent…

Eh is what it is, we’re holding up pretty well and you’d take 2-2 but realistically should be 4-0. It’s just a hard loss to take when you dominate the game like that and still lose.

      ****ing shit sunday
I don't reckon it's that bad. A loss always sucks, but I reckon this was one where we can see exactly what went wrong. It wasn't our game plan, or the overall way we played. Our mids in the 2nd got torched, and we turned the ball waaaay too much in very advantageous situations for us offensively, resulting in them nailing us on the turnover for maximum effect.
I think we're okay. And we had our chances in the last, but some very teachable lessons today I think. I'm not despondent, I think we're well placed. I'll post some more tomorrow in the evening, because I have to finish up tonight with a very early start tomorow.

We fix up that 2nd the vibe is completely different here as we would have won that game. We need to highlight the lapse and drum into players it is nowhere near good enough. No honourable loss here, we let it go despite the injuries we have.

Pleased with the 2nd half performance to fight back into the game but the game was lost in the 1st half. It was frustrating in the last quarter having all the dominance but not able to take advantage.

We were dominant in that first quarter and did not take more advantage than we should have. Our ability to defend when they went inside 50 was big factor in that 2nd quarter in not winning. They pretty much early on scoring with each inside 50. That has to be better on our part.

Darcy is great 5 goals and the other things he was doing. Kennedy played a good game and Libba just keeps doing a great job but I reckon is wanting the Bont back with him in there.

Harmes had a decent game. Great goal.

Was good to see Sanders kick some goals which will continue to build his confidence.

Naughton is low on confidence. Just seems to not be able to take marks and have an impact.

It certainly sucks to lose but we take the good from this game into Gather Round next week against the Lions who aren't at their best despite and undefeated start. We also need to review that 2nd quarter. Just not good enough.

I think in the end we suffered the Darcy factor in we just kept bombing it in when we should have looked around the arc. Astro being out of sorts doesn't help marks he would normally swallow he couldn't grab hold of.

I thought the dockers just played unbelievable footy in that period. Just went big at contested ball, pressure, clearance.

They were mainly scoring through turnover until that period, then they just scored from every source, from kick out to f50 stoppage.

We lost to a pretty good side without Young and Walters.

Sad to lose but there is no dishonour in losing to them over there and we were in it for the most part.

Nope, don't agree. While they played well in the 2nd, watch the effort in the 2nd mostly the last part of that quarter. Pathetic and it cost us. It's not good enough and we need to highlight that it is not good enough, not say close enough is OK.

We needed to try and play tempo, we never seem to learn how to do that. Just slow it down for five mins. Sadly we couldn't get it back and when we did we turned it over.

The amount of times we had the ball 55-65 out and flat out refused to hit up an easy target for a 40-50m set shot was absolutely infuriating. There were always players open.

Darcy is a huge target, but when he's got 12 people on him maybe look elsewhere.

Naughtons body work and forward craft is really poor. And its not improving. Constantly out bodied and marked once again.

First goal of the game Naughton leads up, turns and kicks to Darcy. Its so obvious that's his best position. Up the ground. Why is he playing deep so often...

Midfield completely fell asleep for half a quarter and it cost us another game.

I remember alot of them where we won all the numbers except the most important ones. I also remember many games with run on goals over the back which broke the game.

The second quarter was everything that has been bad about us for five years.

Any changes are deck chair shuffles.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

Pretty proud of the way the boys fought that out. A few skill errors cost us in the end and probably not lowering ur eyes going forward but that happens.

Darcy. we have found the next Superstar to take over from Bont.

Libba. I had a feeling before the season started he might be pushed out but I was completely wrong.

Sanders. Starting to string some good games together and is showing why we used pick 6 on him. After his start to the season I was starting to worry but he is a jet.

Dale. Just a standard Bailey Dale game absolute jet.

Baker I don't mind his dash but the skill level isn't up to it unfortunately so probably best to move on from this experiment.

Buku. Had a game to forget done some nice things but made to many mistakes and I think he will make way for either O'Donnell to go back or Buss to debut.

Yeah fair call, can definitely take a bit out of it in that like you said we know exactly what went wrong and basically it was intensity around the ball for 20 mins absolutely torching our backline.

Dissapointing that it happened like that but I think the season caught up with us a little bit there, we’ve had some tough games in tough conditions. We completely switched off there though and it’s been a while since that happened

Last one I left out was English I thought he was back to his 2023 form tonight. Hopefully he builds some confidence going forward because he is a premier ruckman in the AFL when on.
