I reckon you might be on to something! I glanced at the Tazzie practice match today and McNeil was on fire. Is it just his new pattern of starting the year brilliantly or is it an against Hawthorn thing? (I also think he genuinely needs a vision test, specifically contrast).
Coming off the bye might mirror that reset of a fresh start, thats when he's at his speediest and slickest, let the dopamine roll.
