    v Richmond: 63.2% disposal efficiency, 6 inside 50s and 3 score involvements

So we know he gets a boat load of the footy and is a contested beast who gets the ball out when no one can... but he also isn't a bad distributor. If your one knock on Garcia is that he's not an elite kick than you could drop the majority of the players in the 23.

He's had back to back weeks where he has been elite in multiple areas and in the areas that aren't his strength (like disposal efficiency and decision making), he hasn't been a liability. That is all you can ask of a player, they can't be perfect.

I'm not knocking his stats and I only have poor streaming quality to look at but he just looks like he puts himself under pressure when he could have dished it off early instead of running around 10 players.
Good luck to him if he gets the nod I would like nothing more than to see him succeed but at AFL level you can't dodge and weave as much as he does.
I may be exaggerating a bit but I just think he over does it. It won't take much to win me over I not totally against him as a player.

Pretty easy this week, Sanders for Treloar & JJ for Bramble. Buss & Garcia on standby for how JOD & McNeil pull up.

Brambles gotta go, again he was fine against poor opposition but he’s going to cost us games against any side that puts a shred of pressure on. I actually don’t know if I’ve seen an AFL player with less awareness. I like some of his attributes but I just want him no where near defence when he just has no idea of his surroundings. I’d actually try him at wing/HFF in the vfl.

We’re a better team right now with Sanders than Treloar, he is toast unfortunately. Sad finish but at least he got his recognition finally last year with his AA season - I just can’t see him finding his feet again, even supposedly fully fit he’s been treacle slow and proppy and sad to say but we don’t exactly need him right now. Give him another extended preseason like block of training and see if we can prime him for a finals run but yeah can’t see it right now, body is letting him down big time and we can’t carry him in games.

I’d be tempted to go Garcia for probably Hynes (or Dolan) too, bit harsh and I’m a huge fan of them both but time to get serious and build towards our best team for this year. Nothing wrong with those two making way to play more VFL. Dolan I think offers more to the side in his role currently than Hynes (although a couple of goals is a great return for him), but yeah nothing against them very happy with how they’re going but we have top 4 aspirations and need to put our best foot forward every week now.

Big Fan of Dolan and Hynes, however, they will get tired, and are not ready for the top 4 teams, and I prefer them in the VFL than Sub.
Sanders and Garcia are easy ins.
Bramble is a perfect Sub, considering we have 2-3 potential midfielders in the backline.
          Khamis has to play.
Jones for JOD if he does not get up.
          Dolan for McNeil, same.

          Backs:
          Lobb - JOD - Truck - Freijah - JJ - Dale
          Outside:
          Sanders - Davidson
          Inside:
          Libba - Bont - Richards
          Ruck:
          English
          Forwards:
          Naughton - Darcy - Mennedy - West - VDM - Garcia

INT: Khamis - McNeil - Coffield - Harmes
          Sub: Bramble

          Bubble:
          Jaques - Busss - Baker - Duyrea - Poulter - Scott - Hynes - Cleary - Jones - Dolan
          Not in the Mix:
Smith - Gardner- Lennedy - Croft
          Injured:
          Arty - Trelor - Sellwood - Gallagher

Ins: Sanders - JJ - Garcia
Out: Trelor - Dolan - Hynes

I watched Hynes closely yesterday and I felt he looked a little lost in the role he was playing. He is a mid fielder thrown in as a small forward, and great he snagged two goals, but he needs some mid time (eventually)

Short turnaround in both AFL and VFL makes this very interesting and will be determined by how the players pull up, my best guess would be
In: Sanders, JJ, Busslinger (if JOD doesn’t recover), Garcia (if McNeil doesn’t recover)
Out: Treloar, Bramble, JOD (if he doesn’t recover), McNeil (if he doesn’t recover)

Watching the VFL game on Sunday, there were some good performances from those seeking promotion to the AFL team. However, I noticed a few passages of play where our team progression was destroyed by selfish individual acts. Perhaps these were brought on by a desire to stand out when it comes to promotion, but the players need to have it stressed to them; the team comes first. I do not believe those involved should be rewarded with promotion.

Always prefer to see a couple of changes on the short back up and I suspect Sanders being out, O'Donnell sitting out the last were amongst a few calls influenced by the short turnaround that Bevo was clearly conscious of and mentioned in his mid week presser.

Out: Treloar, Bramble, Dolan (prefer him to McNeil but think another full game might be an ask for him).
                  In: Sanders, JJ, Garcia

Is it time to drop Naughton? He is not top 22/23 at the moment.

Yeah, our leading goalkicker who has the 6th most team score involvements, 3rd most team goal assists and 2nd most team tackles inside 50... he should get dropped for a first gamer (Croft is our only recognized key forward in the 2s).

Jeez Louise... he may not be having a great year by his lofty standards but the man competes at every single contest and still kicks a goal or two a game.

I don't think he should. He is a great decoy for Darcy and when he is on song can really contribute.

                                No.

I think everyone needs to stop listening to Kane Cornes type rhetoric and watch the game closely again. He handed off two goals to Bont alone (tap for the first goal and handball later in the game) and while he is not clunking as many as we would like, takes one of the best two defenders (often both, sometimes the opposite ruck too) and competes hard. He pressures, he tackles, he still adds a few goals.

We would all love to see him get back to kicking bags, but if his "down" period looks like it currently does, I think we take that for sure.

On a bit of a tangent, Hynes had much less impact on the game (and I know he is young) but very few people have called for him to make way and we all generally seem rapt by his game. We can be a pretty unfair bunch.
