Do give Hynes Treloar's spot and see how he goes in the middle and Sanders moves into Hynes position or Sydney is not the team to muck about with.

This isn’t the game to play around with midfield set ups. Sydney have some mojo back and will take some beating. Happy for Hynes to keep building in the F50.Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.👍 1Comment

On top of a lack of other options he's one of the leaders at the club, a proven performer and often he is a leading goal kicker.
If we had some clearly better options then perhaps it becomes a consideration.

Moving forward, we need bramble out of our 22 and being used as a depth player only. Even in a comfortable win on the weekend with low pressure he was making some horrible decisions that won't cut it against top 8 sides. His stats don't back up how poor a game he had. Supposedly he ran at 74% efficiency but I couldn't count the number of times he held onto the ball too long, then gave it to someone under immediate pressure for them to get dumped in a tackle or have to work their own way out of it. Freijah and Richards saved his ass a couple of times by being able to shrug tackles and get a hand off because they were given a hospital ball from Bramble out of panic.
That being said - Bramble out for JJ. Sanders in for Treloar. Hynes, Dolan (or McNeil if hurt) may get a spell for Garcia due to his good form. Any other changes I can't see at the moment.
On another note, Coffield over Cleary seems fair from what I saw on the weekend. His decision making is typically sound and he reads the ball in the air brilliantly. He should have had a couple more easy intercept marks if Lobb was a little more switched on with his body blocking and communication.Comment

Looks like McNeil will be fine, but JOD is a test as is Liam Jones.
The Buss may have to step in.FFC: Established 1883

Watching the VFL game on Sunday, there were some good performances from those seeking promotion to the AFL team. However, I noticed a few passages of play where our team progression was destroyed by selfish individual acts. Perhaps these were brought on by a desire to stand out when it comes to promotion, but the players need to have it stressed to them; the team comes first. I do not believe those involved should be rewarded with promotion.Comment

Feel for Buku. He was interviewed on sen after the game and expressed that he thought he was stiff to be dropped to sub. I agree although I do think that he is a ideal sub candidate because of his flexibility.👍 2Comment

I'd be tempted to keep Khamis in and have him chop out in the ruck just so Sam Darcy stays forward as much as possible.
If you were Cox, would you want Darcy down there 60% of the time or 80% of the time? He towers over whoever Sydney send to him (likely Tom McCartin)Western Bulldogs: 2016 Premiers👍 1Comment

We did very well v Sydney last year with a taller line up which included Jamarra. But our contest intensity, wearing them down, making them panic and frazzle was what won it. It was aerial and at ground effort, we were relentless.
I'm most curious how the ruck battle will pan out, what our plans and contingencies are? Grundy v English is a great matchup. Grundy generally barely leaves the ground (TOG)He is so experienced and has been in good touch. Last game he won hitouts easily but we got the clearances. I reckon Tim is ready to show extra class and tactics tomorrow.
I assume both the VFL & AFL teams are already on the plane by now? 2.05 start for the VFL game.
I'd keep Buku in as the Swans will be so aware of Darcy they'll likely give up goals to other Fwds. Khamis is quite an accurate goalkicker and handy backup ruck.
Sanders in for Treloar if he's well enough and JJ in for Bramble.👍 1Comment

I don't know how all this starts but we do have a few supporters suggesting that Naughton has been dropped.
The original source seems to be a dubious media account for Mitch Cleary but we do have a few on a chat group I;m in running with it.

If his name wasn't Naughton he would have been dropped a while ago I think (does have obvious credits in the bank). Could barely watch him last week he was that fumbly. Not sure who would come in for him if it is true, guessing Buku gets a run at it and another small comes in.Comment

I got invited to a small function the club ran last week where Daniel Pratt and Matt Egan talked about the season. They mentioned that while it was a lean season for Naughton they were confident he would perform better r with Darcy back. It's hard to imagine the MC giving up on him being paired with Darcy so quickly.👍 1Comment

A game in the 2's kicking 5 wouldn't be awful would it?
Buku stays in, Buss and JJ in and JOD might swing forward a bit with Lobb. Not ideal but you never know with the Bevo.
Hynes, Bont and Davidson might get rotated through half fwd more often?
