Treloar will depend on how he pulled up after today's game

We’re not changing the structure and Croft has absolutely played his way into the 3rd tall role considering he did more than Poulter did in 4 weeks in 1 qtr lol, he won’t have it that easy but he’s shown he can offer plenty without the football. Just needs to stay out of Darcy & Naughtys way at times.

Treloar has to come in for either Sanders or Garcia. Sanders the unlucky one to make way for mine, he just doesn’t really have a role at the moment. We’ll need him in the midfield soon though, will be a bitter pill for him to swallow but unfortunately that’s how it is.

VDM only comes in if McNeil is injured. One of these two is all we need in that purely defensive small forward role. Two is overkill. I’d prefer McNeil. VDM isn’t very good and is just a walking injury risk can barely get through a game, it’s a big risk going in with Treloar & VDM who could quite easily both be out of the game in the 1st qtr.

Baker, Davo, Williams, Freijah have locked down the outside HFF/Wing roles. Our best defence is locked too. I like Garcia as the last mid role as he can offer something defensively in the centre, not his best game today though. Might get the sub vest

If VDM is selected before Treloar the selectors are a joke.

this is where the game will be won for mine.
9th best forward line vs 6th best defence.

I’m happy to back our boys in.

Hoping we have a track watcher down at WO today.

All eyes on Adz and McNeil, with how they pull up. If they are ok then only the one charge.

Adz in for Saunders. I think right now McNeil and Garcia offer us more even as a sub role
            BB.

Looking forward - Naughton, Darcy and JUH. It will be the envy of everyone.

Crofty was excellent yesterday, but I think he'll find it a lot tougher next week.

Are we a better side playing Treloar, Sanders and one of VDM or McNeil - going without the third tall forward in Croft or Poulter? Big temptation to get a bit more run and pressure in.

I wanna keep Garcia in the side but he played so unbelievably selfishly yesterday (probably trying to do sick shit to keep his place in the team to be fair) that I could see him having pissed the coaches off. Sanders didn’t do shit yesterday either, and him having been demoted to the sub also suggests he pissed the coaches off.

I think we’ll only pick one and one of VDM/McNeil for balance or whatever. Personally, I would pick all of Garcia, Sanders and Treloar and play Garcia as the small forward because looking at it on paper there’s no reason that Garcia can’t do whatever repeat sprint effort pressure act dickheadery that the other two guys do. But I don’t think the MC’s collective brains work that way and expect Garcia to make way.

Who do we trust more to provide a contest and to keep Fremantle's intercept defenders occupied? Khamis, Poulter or Croft. Fremantle may be able to defend the incoming ball but their ball movement from D50 to F50 against the lions was terrible!

I'd risk it for the biscuit and play Treloar. Sanders or Garcia to be dropped for him.

Was Garcia that terrible yesterday? There was one instance where he was caught trying to do too much in traffic, but the calls against him are off the mark IMO. Sanders was ineffectual for 45 minutes when he came on as the sub, and would be the most vulnerable to retain his place.

We need more leg speed, not less. Sanders is the most like-for-like with Treloar. Garcia stays in the 22 for mine.

As an aside, we have butchered the sub role all season. Treloar makes perfect sense as someone who can impact significantly with all-round skill and smarts.

I'd be livid if we dropped Garcia. We did it late in the year last year and subsequently Hawthorn made us look slow.

The MC historically have marked him harder though so it wouldn't surprise if he made way, given he was also sub a week earlier (a bizarre decision).

Logically I don't see how we play Sanders - he's had a poor few months and didn't impact yesterday when he came on in a training drill of a game.

Yeah I'd be dropping Sanders over Garcia too.

                        Treloar for Sanders
                        Poulter for Croft

                          I don't get this move.

Poulter has rarely shown the ability to influence the game against decent opposition, and his VFL form doesn't translate to competent performances with the senior team... I'd rather go with Croft who is the future and give him the opportunity to play in a big game, rather than go with Poulter who is known quantity.

Even if Croft fails it will give him a look at where he needs to get to.... but based on his efforts yesterday he will have an impact.

If the MC drop Croft to give Poulter a game there is something seriously wrong.

Croft showed an ability to hit the contest with intent. Poulter has only ever showed an intent to not hit the contest.

Croft actually put pressure on. Poulter thinks pressure is a reading on a barometer.

I'd prefer Croft to play next week but I don't think the MC will do it. Freo v West Coast is a vastly different game. The Eagles yesterday may as well have been a vfl side.

Poulter doesn't exactly inspire confidence though. I just think the MC will bring him or VDM in for Croft.

Yep, we need to keep Luke Ryan honest on someone who is a clear aerial threat. He will take liberties peeling off as 3rd man up against Darcy/Naughts if he's matched up on Poulter.
