Re: Welcome to the Bulldogs: Bailey Smith

    AFLPA MVP

    Best First-Year Player

    1. Sam Walsh (400)
    2. Connor Rozee (112)
    3. Sydney Stack (62)

Smith is a bit stiff for third as his stats show he has had more impact than Stack overall.

Yes and I imagine most players only watch the footage they have to and don't watch many games. The others have higher profiles than Smith and predictably get the votes.

Luke Darcy didn't give him a vote. Got to show some love for the breed.

Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy and Cameron Ling did not have Bailey Smith in their top 5 - further proof that they know nothing about football.

Yet Cameron Ling gave Bryan Myers or Gryan Miers or Crying Beers or whatever his name is 2 votes.

Bailey polled with 8 out of 11 voters so it was good recognition.

Me either. He's got something special. I think if Rankine had of been fit he is as good as any also.

What a joke. I think it was Fartlett that didn't vote for The Bont. These guys no idea.

Interesting that Kevin Sheehan, who is the underage footy expert on the voting panel, gave Bailey 3 votes and Stack none.

Miers is a nice player, but he is second year player and playing in one of the best teams in the comp.

Smith didn't train till Feb and nearly plays every game, handles himself in the centre square has already developed a fend off and as clean as can be. Anyone who put Miers in front of him has lost the plot.
