This year can get f****ed. Bruce doing his ACL with 2 seconds left. Honestly I can't stomach the injuries we cop. That's him gone for next season too. Will he come back from this? Poor bugger.

I hate the Essendon Olympic Committee so much.

That was infuriating to watch, after 17 days straight of Olympics goodness, applauding others and appreciating effort, I’ve snapped back to reality. We had one of those off games, one where the ruck problem flared up, and all things being equal, I thought we’d be right. But it’s hard when you have a bloke kick 7 straight on top of things.

A bit of a worry, but nothing new on the table.

Bruce knee is bad news, but not catastrophic. Feel for him.

It's an indictment on him that he wasn't given the responsibility to try and take out Wright over the 3rd game defender in Schache, but given Francis and then Waterman troubled him, he was no chance any way.

Man I get you don't like him but he's at a minimum ten centimetres shorter than Wright, and Wright was getting silver service because of a lack of pressure up the ground.

Horrendous. Got a call halfway through the match that a friend had passed away as well. Getting smashed from all angles.

When you look at those defenders, it's hard to believe that Young can't get consistent games.

I won't give us a chance to win the flag until Cordy is out of the side. He's absolutely horrendous.

At times Cordy is he own worst enemy. There were at least two occasions early on when he was standing two metres left of his opponent before the ball came in. It only has to go right and he has Buckley's chance of making a spoil.

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with English. For a big bloke he drops too many marks and fails to spoil effectively. He was beaten badly today by a kid who's played about 20 games. He rarely goes body on body at throw ins and rarely runs and jumps over over his opponent - so? We are going to have to put some serious thought into what his role is.

Another thing I noticed was how many times Naughton was locked up with his opponent when the ball had just left the kicker's boot to send it inside 50. I don't know what the answer is to that. Was he being held? Was he being denied space to lead into?

Hopefully, this loss will be a wake up call. It certainly was a shocking way to end a game with Josh Bruce going down.

I know Bevo doesn't tag that much but at one stage at the centre bounce we had Macrae on one side of the circle and Merritt on the opposite side both next to no one.
Is that over confidence in English or a lack of respect for the opposition.

Well I just watched that and found out I’m in 14 day home quarantine to stew on it. Bad day indeed.

For me, the most disappointing aspect of this game was that we couldn't find a way to win it. We were two goals down with 15 minutes to go but we just didn't have anyone put their hand up and declare, " Enough is enough! We are going to win this!"

Its why I couldn't find votes for Macrae, his positioning in the middle was especially poor at centre bounces.
