Yeah you'd think we'll hear about some players training with us and maybe we pick one up before the year starts
It?s either an SSP selection or Mid Season Draft pick.
I?d take the MSD pick.

Meh, can pick someone up in the MSD when there's an injury. If there's someone we like and they prove they should be on the list isn't it worthwhile having them in the system sooner than later (especially compared to halfway through a season)
For the life of me I can't understand why you re-rookie McNeil.
Duryea I get.
I dont think he's been that far off it TBB
Its a notoriously difficult position that half forward flank, and he's been a pretty good tackler, pretty courageous - we havent functioned well forward of the ball during his time. Hes played 42 games over 3 seasons suggesting the match committee have seen enough to like what hes contributing to the team. I dont think his conversion has been quite good enough 19.19 with 8 goal assists, but I dont think hes been too far away from maybe being a handy defensive forward.

He's close to being a good footballer for all the reasons you have highlighted including tackling, pressure acts, courage, hard worker and quickness but he just misses too many goal kicking chances that he shouldn't. If he fixes that or somehow finds a different role then he is a good chance. He's never going to be a 25 possession type player so he just has to be more efficient with his kicking.
The problem for him is that West is probably ahead of him and Clarke could catch him this year if he doesn't tidy up his kicking.

Sort of agree but only a bit, for me he just hasn?t improved enough, pretty flatline recently. Also some of his misses have been horrible and when you are a short, marginal player you are not afforded as much leeway with conversion.
Just saw GvG?s post. Captures my thoughts.
Josie :)
Our day will come
And we'll have everything.
We'll share the joy
Just like '54 again.

Spot on. For a rooKI , his games plaYED has been above the average number for his rookie draft year.
MCneil needs to work on his goal kicking ,its not goOd enough to hold a position in the team with 50% coversion rate.close to 70% is what he should be aiming for.
He needs also to work on his marking.
If he can sort these 2 out and improve we have a good player
Composure and kicking. More the hitting targets side of things as he seems to have a longish kick and loves a goal.
47. Lachlan Smith
Might be a bit slow (looks agile enough in highlights) and again maybe not a great kick
55. Aiden O'Driscoll
Strength/contested work. Very quick but very slight. Also not super consistent either game to game or quarter to quarter. Doesn't seem a big accumulator either
All later picks obviously. What is the knock on each of them?
Most of these are largely from Rookie Me so maybe have a read of the profiles there

McNeil has actually gone at 39% across his career (you have to count the complete misses as well). 70% would put him in GOAT territory. Anything above 50% is reasonable.
