Re: Tim English - What Price do you pay?
With 6 million 328 posts on this forum and a breadth of activity across all threads you haven't seen any criticism of any other player after that debacle?
I think you just can't bring yourself to admit that a) you were wrong in your strident defence of Tim and b) Tim's actually just not that good. It's not that you can't be bothered, because your amount of posts say you can always be bothered. It's that you can't admit it.

Re: Tim English - What Price do you pay?
Just maybe some of us are heartily sick and tired of seeing our no 1 ruckman have absolutely zero impact in a final yet again, and showing just how easily he waives the white flag against his direct opponent once again when it really matters. It's not personal - he just consistently sucks as no 1 ruck in finals/big games throughout his entire career, and speaking for myself I'm tired of seeing it/rewarding the repeated lack of performance."Look at me mate. Re: Tim English - What Price do you pay?
The midfield hiding really shocked the coaching panel looking at the moves we made. English was as big part of that, our mids were looking to him for first use.
I mean our entire game is based on numbers at the contest, getting it inside 50 and keeping it in.
We removed the +1 at the contest as we couldn't contain them anywhere on the ground and had to shore up the defence.
We had 39 inside 50s for the game, and when it did go in it came out so easily.
I think we had Naughton in the ruck as a ruck/fourth mid with his follow up work thought to be capable of giving us something of a pseudo +1.
Bont was tagged out of it and we obliged their want moving him out of the game.
It was a dirty night for our system.BT COME BACK!

Re: Tim English - What Price do you pay?
Aaron Naughton. The main guy who looked like kicking goals, who did a knee injury early this season and probably our most expensive player until Bont re-signs was playing ruck against a bigger opponent because Tim was giving us nothing in a final again. At what point does Bevo have a serious think about whether Tim is his dream ruckman?Rocket Science: the epitaph for the Beveridge era - whenever it ends - reading 'Here lies a team that could beat anyone on its day, but seldom did when it mattered most'. 15/7/2023Comment

Re: Tim English - What Price do you pay?
We've signed on with English for the longer term and while Bevo is at the helm it's not changing. Based on Darcy being such a good forward I'd be looking at some more support for English and grooming someone to really start challenging his position.Western Bulldogs Football Club "Where it's cool to drool"Comment
